ordered for my husband and he barely fit his foot in, shoe was a little to narrow for his feet, top seem pressured his foot, even we ordered regular ..... nice good looking shoe but had to send them back

i thought when birkenstock stopped making alton clogs i'd never be able to wear birk'a again. not clogs but hands down most comfortable shoes i've worn in sevreal years

Having worn and loved Birk sandals for years TNTC, I hoped to find shoes that felt as good on my feet. Like all Birks, these will take some breaking in but they're exactly what I hoped to find. The only downside is that they're a bit heavy.

I got these for myself even thought they are sold as men's shoes. I wear a women's 9 1/2 or 10. Wide is often too wide and Regular too narrow. I guess i have a combination last- wider in front, narrow in the heel. I wanted comfortable black shoes i could wear with a skirt. I got the smallest size - 41. These shoes are kinda cute and make my feet look smaller! I wouldn't call them fancy exactly but they've got style. They're reasonably comfortable but i don't love them yet. One has been scraping the back of my ankle, but i figure i can take care of that. It annoys me that birkenstock closed shoes don't have the same footbed as the open shoes, like arizona. But there's probably a good reason for it. Anyway, I'm keeping them. I'm picky and it takes me a long time to find any shoes that are even halfway decent, so I'm hoping they'll get more comfortable with time. The weird thing is that in several locations i feel something sharp, like the end of a nylon thread.

Love these shoes. I have wide feet with bunions so these are the only Clarks Wallabee style shoe (a retro style I love) that I can comfortably wear.

I normally wear a 10.5 and ordered the 11 - 11.5. Perfect fit. Very comfortable out of the box. Made in Portugal - high quality.

I had to return for next size to get proper fit.

Bought these for my husband as a surprise. He LOVES them and the brand.

My husband is willing to overlook the style of these, because they are so comfortable and supportive. There just aren't enough, if any, choices for closed toe Birks that can be dressed up a bit.

The shoe has a hard back and has caused achilles pain on my left foot. I’ve had to take 800mg ibuprofen to relieve the pain - At first I thought it was because the shoe was new, the second time I wore it, the pain got worse and has prevented me from walking.

Size and fit were fine. Comfortable shoe. But the quality was very, very disappointing. After wearing them a dozen or so times, the entire sole and tread started to separate from the body of the shoe. It doesn't appear to be the stitching, just the glue. But this shouldn't happen to a higher-end shoe that I've worn walking on occasion over the past few months. Also, truth be told, the Zappos team wasn't all that helpful or responsive either, so I'll just get them fixed at a shoe repair place.

I ordered these for my boyfriend and he LOVES them. After about 4 months, though, the cork began to split really badly. Not like normal wear-and-tear, but along the perimeter of the shoe, parallel to the seam (on both shoes). I contacted Zappos and they replaced them (best customer service EVER). But after about 3 months, the new pair did the SAME thing. I took these to a Birkenstock shoe repair and he determined that the issue can't be fixed. I don't know why? But I feel it's a structural issue with the shoe. My boyfriend is a big guy - 6'3" and about 250 lbs, and he can be rough on things, but this just seems like a total defect of the actual shoe construction. It's so disappointing because the style is GREAT and the comfort is, as always, top-notch. He's trying out the Garys to see if they hold up better for him.
