Let me just start off by saying, I have NEVER had a pair of boots this comfortable. I’ve hiked all over the world and most of it in low top hiking shoes as I have not worn a pair of boots in over 6 years… but these are absolute heaven! I’m not sure I’ll even go back to my low tops again after wearing these. Not to mention, I have been recovering from knee surgery for a few months and getting back into hiking has been a struggle bc I’ve been hating the shoes I’ve been wearing, these were like walking on a cloud and I had no knee pain, not even coming downhill which is always the worst! If you’re an avid hiker, BUY THESE RIGHT NOW!

I have loved these boots! They are the most expensive pair I have owned, but they are worth every penny. It took a while to break them in - they were a little rough on my ankles and little toes the first 5 times I wore them, but I was committed to making them work. I was tying them too tightly - they didn’t need to be tied up super tight to provide adequate support. Once broken in, they were amazing! I even wore them to do some work in fairly deep snow, and they kept my feet dry for an entire day, while offering comfort I wouldn’t get from a snow boot. I’ve had them for 3 years now. I’ve worn them on countless hikes and occasionally as work boots. They are still solid shoes that are so comfortable and supportive. Nothing has broken or come apart on these shoes. The cleats on the bottoms are effective on dry, loose dirt as well as smooth rocks. Good grip, great fit, and excellent support.

I found the fit to be superior for my feet. Used them everyday for a period of 4 days and no break-in period was required. Extremely good grip on the trail.

Attractive looking hiking boots that comes with a second slip liner in for those needing to fill up space. The second liner also has Velcro under the ball of the foot and the heel to keep you foot in place. This appealed to me since I have a narrow heel and slightly narrow width foot. However, I still got blisters on my heels on my first 5 mile hike, so I had to return them.

I am used to the Merrell hiking boots that fit like a glove and have a comfortable, cushioned fit, BUT they tend to leak! So, with the help of a Zappos agent, I exchanged them for the Salewa Alp Trainer. They are definitely water proof, BUT they are like walking on bricks, seriously. After an hour of hiking, my heels hurt, and I've never had that problem before. I am told by others that the gore-tex sole makes them more stiff. Now, I'm like the worst customer. I would like to exchange these and go back to the comfort of the Merrell's hiking boot--regardless of the potential for leaking.

These are pretty good for day hikes over unpredictable terrain, they are lighter and more flexible than my mountaineering boots; however, they have absolutely no arch support. None. I was hoping to make some adjustments with the MFF+ footbed, but this will only reduce or increase space within (and the reduction component is sold separately). Plan on adding your own support

These were nice boots until one of the metal eyelets at the top snapped off mid-hike, leaving me with an awkward half-supported ankle on a difficult scramble. I had hiked in them perhaps a dozen times.
