I have gone out for a few runs now and can properly leave a good review. These shoes are light, very comfortable, and absorb the impact of the uneven surfaces/terrains. I run through trails, and at a national park so you'll run into all types of surfaces. Even so these shoes feel great and I don't suffer from any soreness from the run the next day. The shoes are definitely worth the buy. I bought a different pair to compare but nothing beats this one.

Not so heavy, confortable for long distance which complements with the kind of "Glidsole" technology I tried before in shoes like Glideride 2 and Evoride. Fits good and grip feels okey for me (I'm not a technical trail runner) I like that this kind of shoes have speed laces.

They are without a doubt the best trail running shoes for me. However, the only improvement I would make would be the tongue a little smaller or more closed since in some areas the inside of the shoe fills with dirt.

Returned because they were a 1/2 size to small. Received 1/2 size larger and fit great. Love Asics!

I am a big guy, who usually buy Nimbus model (4e or 2.) Nimbus are super good, but the Trabuco Max has a cushioning for the whole feet , and that make them special.

My favorite ASICS shoe. Tons of cushioning and loads of padding make it fit like a glove. Very comfortable to wear every day. I ordered a 2nd pair!

These are my first trail shoes ever, but let me tell you these shoes have performed beyond my expectations! These shoes can handle any trail you throw at them! Literally ate up all the trails in Hawaii!!! If your on the fence about these shoes, BUY THEM! I'm 6'4" 250lbs. Handle me with ease!

Great fit and comfortable. I spend the majority of my work day on my feet as a Pediatric Provider. I only wear ASICS and these are becoming my favorite pair.

Great shoe not a fan of the laces and just a touch narrow for me. Comfy out the box, on my feet 8-10 hours day.

It could have been 5 stars but as others have pointed out the lace system is not comfortable -
it should have come with traditional lace. Took it out after 2 months of running and have 47-inch/120cm black lace from Asics. Now I have no complaints during my runs. Also, would love to have a better toe cap to avoid abrasions.

I wish the toe box was a little wider, I like the cushion, especially in the forefoot. Only hiked in them and chased my kids, so can't comment on real running yet. I don't mind the lace system. I hoard shoes so change/different is sometimes nice.

Ok, the issues here are minor in terms of details, but added up, they compromise the use of the Trabuco Max for any run over 10-12 miles on trails. 1. The tongue is DUMBO huge; why? 2. the Lacing systems, while good in concept, needs sorting out. It needs flatter, less "cutting over the foot" laces (1) and (2) also needs an extra eyelet towards end of the tongue to have true lock-down at the heel that doesn't cut across the foot. I've sorted out the lacing, enough, to make them usable. But this is such an "almost-great" trail shoe. The grip is insane, love the rocker feeling, it's a substantial shoe that somehow magically feels faster and like it WANTS to go fast. Runs a tad bit shorter than some other ASICS, but not a real issue up until about 20 miles then my feet swell up against hte fabric, and blisters result. But FIX that tongue length, and the LACING apparatus, and you have a winner. Hope you make a TrabucoMax 2, ASICS! PLEASE.

Pros: Fantastic weight/cushion ratio
Great width and secure fit for a medium foot
Top notch traction in snow, mud, scree, silt, rock
Good breathability
Fair price point for what you get
Guidsole does make a difference for me
Cons: Funny tongue shape and too thin for speed laces that hurt the top of my foot.
After 100mi a 1.5" section of upper midsole separated from the mesh upper and needed to be reglued (base midsole has not separated)
Toe cap crinkles and would be better if it was a traditional solid cap
I swapped the speed laces with flat laces and added 1 more set of eyelets to the top of the chain and now the lockdrown is superb and no more bruised top of my feet on long runs. I would suggest either make a thicker tonge like salomons or skip the speed lace system on the next model.
These shoes get more use than any other of my 15 trail runner pairs in rotation which says a lot about their confidence and comfort. Thanks asics for making trail running fun!

Best ASICS running shoe in a long time! A little heavy but cushion is deep and responsive. Great traction and upper fit with plenty of midfoot room. Tongue is way too big but a minor annoyance. A+! For reference, I'm 6'3", 235# supinator and run 12-15 miles per week, primarily trails.

The shoe is very comfortable but I truly hate the style of the shoe. The tongue is giant and sticks out. I would prefer to just tie my shoe with conventional laces.

In my opinion this would be a great trail-running shoe if they used the same lace and tongue system as they have on the Gel Trabuco 10. The Trabuco Max has substantially more cushion than the Gel Trabuco 10. However, I returned the T-Max w/o running in them as I could tell the cord-lock lacing system did not provide sufficient lock down for my trail running. I do recommend the Gel Trabuco 10.
