Stanley has been recommended by few friends so I thought I'd check them out. I purchased the northern lights because of the design. I was excited to get them. Unfortunately the product came scratched and the color didn't match. You can barley see the design and online in looks multi-toned but in person it's just one color. So I thought maybe if I put a drink in hot or cold but nothing changed... so that was a bummer. This is my first experience with Stanley cups.

The mug itself stands up to the legendary Stanley reputation. However, the Northern Lights edition isn't at all as it is represented as looking. The colors are not as shown and the trees themselves are barely noticeable. I must admit to being disappointed.

I saw the northern lights and immediately wanted it. When I recieved it it wasnt as vibrant as the picture. Was going to return but kept it anyways. I use this for my morning coffee and it keep my coffee warmer longer then my typical mugs. The only complaint I had was that the lid did not have a hole to allow the coffee to come out easily. The only vent it had was on the rubber gasket around the lid. And it can be "sealed" by moving your cup around. So when you drink the seal will "pop" and hot coffee (which happened to me) or whatever liquid it may be will spill everywhere. I would of loved a vent hole on the top of the lid. Other then that I do love that it does keep my coffee hot.

I got this as a gift from someone. The cup is fine, doesn't really fit in a car cup holder. The biggest draw back is the lid. It does not shut, and is always open. That makes it hard to take for walks, or use on commute. It's fine if you're sitting by the camp fire, but spill prone if you're doing other activities. The open lid also prevents heat retention. I am a lover of Stanley, I expected a better design from them. I'd buy it again if they made a better lid!

I just received two of the Northern Lights mugs. Unfortunately, there is no color differentiation, and I can barely make out the tree pattern from the rest of the mug unless it's in bright light. The mug is a pretty green with a faint print of trees around 3/4 of the bottom. I would return them but it's too much trouble. Otherwise a good mug. Stanley, can you help?

Stanley is a great product, and I love a good camp mug. The only thing I'm unsure about is just how wide the mug is. As a result, it doesn't fit in my car cup holders, and I managed to spill an entire cup off coffee in my car at a turn.

Seems like a coffee cup to me. Add it to the collection.

Too heavy to be of any real value in a camping situation. Using it around home though.

Wish the lid would fully seal for transport or when kids/pets are around. Otherwise a nice camp mug.

Liked: the size, easiness of cleaning Disliked: it doesn't fit into the cup holder in the car or the backpack. It cannot be fully closed and, therefore, leaks. Would not recommend

While I love the look of the northern lights mug, the mug paint has already started to chip off. I thought Stanley meant quality products, apparently not with this mug.

The cup seems to be very durable but I'm very saddened/disappointed by the looks. I ordered This cup only for the looks, but it's all basically a metallic green, you can see the color division and the trees are practically unnoticeable. The cup itself seems fine, but I'd you're buying for looks, you should get the color you want.

I really like this mug. It keeps beverages warm and the lid helps me spill less. It does not fit in a car cup holder, but I knew this before I bought it. The blue (nightfall) is a nice dark blue. Unfortunately the paint started peeling off after about 5 months.

Another travel mug. These seem to be too common these days as everyone who wants one has gotten one by now.

There's no way to close the top so it splashes and spills on the road- it also doesn't fit in the cup holder at all. I also don't think it really keeps the drink warm.

I don't like it at all because I didn't realize that the cap on the mug is open there's a big space in the cap which will allow the liquid in the cup to spill. I think it's a very let's say unfortunate design because if you have hot coffee or hot soup you can spill it on yourself it should have a retractable piece they can open and close but you can't put hot food in there and expect it to stay in there or even stay warm it's a very very poor design.

Extremely disappointed in the product and the company. I have had a Stanley insulated flask that's been with my on lots of adventures and held up brilliantly, and so I was confident I wouldn't be let down when I bought two Stanley Legendary Camp Mugs for everyday use. After only several months of use the coating has started to come off both of my mugs through a mixture of dishwasher and hand washing - see photos of Wine coloured mug. I emailed Stanley to alert them and they promised this was covered under their lifetime guarantee and passed my details onto the claims team. That was three months ago. Despite several emails from me requesting an update I have still not had a reply. Terrible customer service and experience. Unfortunately after checking reviews on other websites it looks like I am not alone. I am sorry to say I would not recommend purchasing anything from Stanley otherwise you will be disappointed.
