These were more like cute fashion boots than actual snow boots. The tongue was open on either side starting around the ankle so if you were walking through deeper snow you’d get it in. Didn’t feel super warm or supportive through the footbed.
Definitely not the worst winter boot I’ve ever tried but I wanted something more waterproof and warmer so I sent them back.

Looks are great but winter boots' primary function should be to keep your feet warm. I love the way these look, but if you are banking on Helly Hanson's performance reputation for these boots, look elsewhere. Anything below 40° and they aren't worth bothering. For $180 I expect toasty feet. Super bummed. Definitely returning.
