Some things that can make this better is perhaps a rubberized grip for easy gabbing & above all else is incorporating an auto seal feature just like the contigo coffee mugs. I used to have a contigo mug and it's auto seal cap works very well. often time you'll just forget to close the lid on the hydro flasks rotating lid.

I bought one, 20oz, in 2018. Does a great job of keeping the cold, cold & hot, hot. However, I notice the loop on the top is much more flimzy than the 2018 version. Not sure it will hold up as well. Would have given 5* if not for this cost-cutting measure.

I love the hydro flask as it does keep cold beverages cold and hot beverages hot, as advertised. I find the handle on the lid to be very useful as it allows carrying the flask with 1 finger or clip it to a backpack. I gave it 4 stars because I wish the lid was designed to lock and unlock (open and close) with one hand. This would make it much more user friendly than having to use both hands to twist it in order to take a sip.

Love the bottle! You did do a great job in simplicity of the lid design (with only 3 parts) but I really prefer a traditional flip open lid that requires a bit less time to clean it. I actually use it for coffee so it starts looking bad pretty quickly if it isn't taken apart and cleaned after every use. Luckily I still have the old style lid from my old bottle that lost its vacuum, so I will use that one. Thanks again!

Nice flash, but developed a leak between the two halves of the lip in open position.

I love this water bottle. It gets the job done, great insulation whether I'm having a hot drink or cold drink. I have petite hands and it is REALLY difficulty getting the lid on and off without my hand slipping off somewhere. I get so frustrated i even used rubber bands around the mouth to help but that does not seem to do anything. Please make some grip either on the bottom of the flex slip lid or on the bottle for petite hands! I also have a 40 oz wide mouth which does not give me this much trouble.

My husband and I use this flask both for water, tea and coffee. It maintains the temperature of the liquid for a very long time, which comes in handy when we go on a road trip and I fill it up with some green tea. It stays fresh and ice cold for longer than we'd ever need it. We also use it for coffee, and again, it keeps it hot for hours. However, I don't have the need to keep my coffee hot all day long, so we add cold creamer, plus 1-2 ice cubes in coffee, to adjust the temperature to a level where it can be safely consumed. So proceed with caution: hot liquids do stay hot! It is stainless steel, so it does not retain or transfer flavors and it is also BPA-free. The powder coat on the outside of the flask makes it easy to grip and hold on to. It does not spill if it is closed, but if you are in the car and you are using it regularly, it is a bit tricky to close without using both hands. If you don't close it and it falls, it will spill some. Our cup holder is way too short for this flask, so we have had quite a few spills. Now onto the not-so-fun part: cleaning it. It is dishwasher safe, but it is recommended to hand wash it, which is what I do. It needs to be washed after each use, or you will get hard-to-remove coffee deposits at the bottom, which require a good bottle brush. My biggest issue, however, is the lid. It has 3 different parts, plus a seal. Do not forget about the seal or it will start growing mold. I use a specially assigned toothbrush for better cleaning. I sometimes also have to use a reusable straw brush to get into all the corners properly. Every few days I soak all parts in a bowl with baking soda and vinegar. It takes a little longer to clean than your average coffee tumbler/cup/mug and that is my only issue with this product.

I am a walker who likes to take water with me. Though this product is titled coffee flask I use for water. Wide mouth allows easy use if ice. Handle is great for carrying. Seems to keep water cool for an acceptable amount of time. Have not tried hot beverages.

This Hydro Flask 20 oz is a great size to keep your coffee hot all morning. I have used this at the office and on long drives out of town to keep myself charged and awake. I have not used this for a cold beverage, but I am sure that this insulated flask would work just as well for that. The handle is nice because it frees up a hand (just hangs off of a couple of fingers) when I am walking out the door to go to work carrying lots of other items. The lid seals well so I don't have to worry about spilling coffee all over my clothes. The only negative that I have about this flask is that the lid is level and there is no indention or slope to it so I feel that there is no room for my upper lip and teeth as I take a drink. Other than that it is great!

Overall I'd say this flask is great, with excellent quality and some really well thought-out features, but I'm not 100% sure how well one piece of the lid in particular will hold up to long-term wear and tear. The lid makes use of an ingenious design that allows for easy one-handed locking and unlocking of the lid (very useful while driving) while still allowing the user to take the lid apart for thorough cleaning of all the interior bits, which is very much appreciated. There is however one large rubber "washer" piece that sits inside the lid that basically makes the whole thing work as well as it does - without that piece being fully functional, the design of the lid just wouldn't work at all. Given how important that piece is, I'd suggest being very careful when removing / washing it - you cannot purchase just this one piece separately, and you'd be forced to spend much more to purchase a whole new lid assembly (roughly 1/3 the cost of the flask). If this piece were available to purchase separately I'd definitely feel much less bothered by the thought of having to replace it!

Works for an all day bottle. Coffee in the am and water the rest of the day without holding onto taste. My only complaint is that it doesn't have an auto close feature: I have emptied an entire coffee into my purse when in forgot to check that it was sealed. Whoops!

I have another hydro flask that I just love, so I bought a second to swap in between cleanings. My old hydro flask came with the hydro flip lid, which I like because I can operate it one-handed and it doesn't take I'm up any room inside of the bottle. So when I ordered this one with the twist-lif, I also ordered another hydro flip lid to go with it. Well, the hydro flip lid does not line up with the logo like my old set does, which isn't a big deal; it just looks wonky. For the price, I would have expected more careful alignment of the threading. But it's the twist lid that I really despise. It's fully waterproof and disassembles for cleaning, which I do like. I don't like that it extends so far into the bottle, which means if I fill the bottle with ice, it catches on the ice and won't screw on or operate correctly. But the worst thing is that I can't operate the lid with one hand. Due to friction, a small amount of force is required to twist the lid open or closed, meaning takes one hand to hold the lid steady while twisting with the other hand. And don't forget to hold the LID, not the bottle, or you will probably unscrew the lid by accident. I feel silly complaining about a bottle lid, but it's so frustrating. Lid issues aside, these flasks are high quality and the best I've found for keeping liquids cold or hot for long periods. The price seems steep for what it is, but then I remember how much having all-day cold water saved me during last summer's heat waves.

I have three Hydro Flasks and like them all, but the paint is peeling on one that is only 1.5 years old. I'm not sure if putting them in the dishwasher is what's causing the paint to peel on the light blue 20 oz, but I put all three in the dishwasher and so far only one has a spot that is peeling to show a patch of the silver bottle under the color. The lid works well if properly reassembled (definitely save the directions). Love that the 20 oz fits in my car's cupholder! Good at keeping warm and cold but can be tricky to remove coffee odor if water is the next beverage.

Love the design and the fact that the lid can be pulled alert to Be thoroughly cleaner, but I find that the rubber stretched or maybe mine is defective because it gets stuck and doesn't work.

You'll need Herculean strength and an engineering degree to disassemble and reassemble the lid for washing, but other than that, it works great!

The lid is frustrating. Like others have said, it has to be completely disassembled for cleaning, and it's tricky to reassemble. I do like having the ability to close the lid to prevent leakage when I'm walking from my car to work. I wouldn't buy this tumbler again though, and I probably wouldn't recommend it to a friend.

These are amazing flasks. They keep my coffee so hot for hours on end. In the summertime with just a few ice cubes they will keep my Matcha cold for easily a few days. And the ice will last that long as well. The only disappointment I have is when I use this particular flask for my coffee. It always seems to seep between the two parts of the lid, and either drip down my lip or drip onto my shirt. I'm not sure why.

I love how the coffee retains its heat in the Hydro Flask and I always take mine with me when traveling. However, after using this for several months the lid is leaking and I have gotten coffee on white blouses, papers, etc. This is not ideal. I wonder I just got a defective lid or if this happens a lot, I hope the lifetime warranty kicks in as I did love it when it did not lead

I was so excited to get one of the new Sedona colors, "Indigo." Glad I went to a local dealer and saw it in person -- it's nothing but a very bleh navy blue. Which is fine if you like navy blue, but the photo made it look a little more vibrant, with an almost green undercast. Nope. Just navy blue. I do love Hydro Flasks and have a collection of various colors. I'm totally in love with my Seagrass and Snapper ones! But this new Indigo color was a huge disappointment.

I love the cup itself. My issues are with the lid. The suction sometimes is so tight I have to have my husband take the lid off. Once I clean it I have a heck if a time getting it back together. I like the handle and the ability of closing it tightly.

I loved this mug at first - keeps my hot tea hot and iced tea cold but the lid design leaks making it impossible to use. I like the straps on the lid and love that Hydroflasks don't "sweat" but the lid on this one is a disappointment.
