Once upon a time, Wave walkers were my favorite shoe. I bought a new pair every year and wore them hours/day, both hiking in the mountains and touring city streets. Waterproof, comfy, they were the perfect all-purpose shoe. Now they have been redesigned and they are just "not right." On one pair I've tried, the footbed had a weird hard knob behind the arch. This particular pair has an extra long tongue that cuts into the top of my foot. Back they go.

I had high hopes for this shoe. I love the Clarks Wave. I have one of the styles and it's the best walking shoe ever. The 2.0 Lace is more of a leather tennis shoe that's bulky and stiff. It appears wide when looking down on it. And it's hard to draw the laces together to make the fit narrower. The weird part of the shoe is that once the heel is positioned in it and the shoe is laced, it feels like the heel of the foot is sitting more forward than it should in the heel of the shoe. There is no way to force it back so it strikes awkwardly as you walk. Needless to say, it went back to the store. Clarks has become a disappointment to me, its biggest fan.

These killed my feet!!!
I am shocked at how bad the design is: the tongue has big, stiff loops inside, on both sides, that DIG into the top on your foot. How this got past Research & Development at Clark’s is incomprehensible.
Seriously.
These shoes are so cute, well- cushioned, & easy to walk in (except for feeling like I had 2 rocks on top of my feet!).
I was so excited to receive them. What a frustrating disappointment!

Unfortunately I had the same problem as other reviewers. I have the previous not-waterproof version of these shoes and love them - perfect for all-day walking expeditions - and wanted the waterproof ones. The designers added an extra layer on the sides of the tongue (along the laces) so water cannot enter, but the material is so bulky I had a mark on my foot (through the sock) after a few minutes of wear, and could not keep them on. Once this flaw is fixed these shoes will be amazing and I will eagerly reorder. Clarks designers please listen to your customers!

The construction of the tongue on both shoes was so rigid that the shoes were uncomfortable to even tie, let alone take a step in. Very disappointing for Clarks.
