True to fit. The extra width is just what I needed.

I was surprised that these seemed a little cheaply made. Hoping they hold up. I have another pair very close to these and they just seem like their made better. These also seem to run a tad small. The last pair fit perfect. These are a little tight. I kept them because I’m afraid the next size would be to big. I’ll just have to see how it goes.

It's a great shoe for running and very comfortable with such amazing foot support. Unfortunately It hurts and squeezes on my ankles when I'm not in motion or sitting still. I would definitely recommend as long as it's for being consistently active.

I've run in this series of shoes for about 30 years and haven't been successful trying different shoes. The 4E width fits my foot very well, and I'm unaware of the shoes at distances up to 28 miles with my feet just being fine and comfortable. Recent pairs last me about 700 miles before I'm through the carbon rubber, with the uppers still in fairly new condition and the absorption/comfort degrading only a bit. I feed the carbon rubber in the 8's and 9's is perhaps only 640 miles worth, and I don't know what changed. The laces in recent series are a good length (they were much too short in, I think, the 6's). My big grumble is the lack of color choices in the 4E width. These shoes and this line have been fairly issue free for me running 1250 to 2400 miles a year.

Initially, it seemed as if there was not enough sole / padding below the toes, and my feet tended to slip forward a little, but after a few outings, the soles adjusted to the shape of my feet, and they no longer slip. Otherwise, the shoes are very light, and put a spring in your step.

These are very comfortable shoes to walk or run in and I highly recommend them with one reservation. I walk daily for over an hour, sometimes briefly jogging, and I've never had any problems with the fit or feel nor have I experienced any foot pain. However, after 20 days of wearing these new shoes I noticed a hole starting to appear in the top front of each shoe. When I looked more closely, this is exactly where my big toes lift up on the fabric as I walk. At first the holes were hardly noticeable but within the next 10 days I noticed the fabric underneath had worn through so now it's just a matter of time before my big toes pop through the outer layer of fabric. I really love the look and comfort of these shoes so I'm really torn about how I feel about these shoes. Someone suggested I put some duct tape on the inside of the shoe were the hole is to prevent the holes getting any bigger. For the price of these shoes, I shouldn't have to use duct tape to prevent holes in the fabric. Luckily, Potomac River Running, the store where I purchased them from, agreed to refund my money. They suggested I order the same shoe except with Knit fabric. They didn't carry that shoe so I had to order directly from Asics. The Knit shoe has only two color options so already disappointed. Let's hope the Knit shoe holds up much better than the regular one.

Size and fit were excellent. I also liked the fabric covering in material and design.

Runs narrower compared to the GT-2000 8. Could be my specific pair as I don't see fit as an issue in other user reviews.

Great everyday trainer. For the price you won't find another that last as long and performs well.

I think with the death of their founder a while ago, Zappos might be on the down turn? Shipping used to be 1-2 days (even during pandemic), now 7-8 days? GT 2000 9's were nice however one of the shoes had a defect, so had to return. Asics could do better with the color ways for wide fit shoes.

Shoe fit very well but the arch support is less than what I need. I will send these back and try either the GT4000 or the Kayano

Hard to argue with a shoe that performs like it's predecessor in my closet, GT2000 4. But it's clearly not as snug and sleek looking and my foot seems to be "lost" in it. I use them in the gym, so I cannot comment on running. Colors recently severely lacking- women's colors much cooler looking. Solid shoe, but not great IMO.

I have wide feet (can only wear 4Es with comfort). The GT-2009 series works fine (as do most in the 2000 series). My only complaint is the sorry lack of nice colors for people with wide feet. You're fine if you only want grey, white, or black, but forget any bright base colors that might be more appealing to the eyes. If I could find another shoe manufacturer with roughly the same quality/comfortable fit and a better color selection, I'd change in a heartbeat. This is a continual complaint from wide-footed people who wear GT-2000s. Beats me why Asics doesn't seem to give a darn about such complaints. Guess they don't have to as long as we come back for more.

I bought a 2e version but it was too snug so I reordered a 4e size 10 and a lot better. Very comfortable as I am a teacher walking all day on carpet covered concrete. I've only had these for about a week, and so far so good. Nice color, good tread, and lacing is very easy. I'd buy again

Just got these and first impressions are: - Nice looking offering for a 4E width, love the orange pop on the rubber - Great fit and cushioning - The laces aren't long enough to do a heel lock racers loop, so why even have the extra hole then? - Tongue is so big. It is brushing against the opposing foot during running. I can literally feel it catching the wind and slowing me down. ASICS, please stop making drag-chutes for tongues - they can be padding just make them a little more sleek, and not like a 1980s reebok pumps high-top tongue.

The tongue of the shoe is narrow so if it's not perfectly centered your socks will shoe through the laces. Comfortable shoe for both a toe or heel strike.

I went on a vacation so I needed to purchase some walking shoes for sight seeing. Most shoes I've purchased after awhile of walking i feel small back pain in lower back not with these, the support and comfort made a big difference no back pain at all. Great job asics on these shoes!

The left foot is somehow smaller than the right foot. It seems a manufacturing defect. I have tried several things to adjust the shoe laces but evidently there is something wrong with the left foot's design. It always hurts when I walk. I have bought this model several times and it has always fit perfectly but not this time, unfortunately.

The shoes are great to run in and extremely comfortable. After only a couple of runs the sole is already eroding though so concerned they may not last long.

The upper portion of the shoe, towards the toes, is fragile and the knit gave away to form a hole. This happened within a fortnight of the purchase.

The GT-2000 9 is a decent enough rendition of the GT-2000 series, that I have been using for over 20 years, not the worst, but not the best for sure. The heal does not seem to be wearing as well as previous versions, but maybe I am running on the street more. Still feels like the toe box fabric is going to wear through at any time since there is little to no reinforcement to keep the toes from wearing the fabric. The most important issue to me is the lack of a narrow size. This was major plus for me, but Asics stopped offering narrow sizes in the GT-2000 a couple series ago...
