I live in a wet area, so I bought these specifically because they are sold as "waterproof." I haven't had a rainy day yet to know how waterproof they are, but I can update this review later. The heel is a little soft; some may like the extra cushion, but I prefer the stability of a higher density sole. My biggest surprise and disappointment is how easier the upper shows any marks of any kind. After the very first wear, the tongue, for example, looked liked it had been rubbed with sandpaper. The leather upper distresses so easily, and I was expecting a high gloss upper. This will need to get touched up regularly to look professional, and I'm not sure if I'll like them enough to believe they are worth the extra effort.

The sizing was very inaccurate with these shoes. I ordered my usual size -- including in Rockport -- and the shoes were much too big. So I can't rate them otherwise. The color was also not true to the image on the screen: it was a muddier brown than the screen image.

These were recommended to me as similar to the discontinued Ellingwood.
They appear mildly malformed after wearing twice.
I returned to my old pair of Ellinwoods, which are even now in better shape than these and they are I believe 6 years old.

these shoes are DEFINITELY NOT slip resistant. I work in a restaurant & need much better traction while in the kitchen. they are good looking shoes but they hurt my feet.

This is a very nice shoe, but unfortunately, it was approximately a full size too large. I wear a 15 W in every other shoe I own, but this one was the exception.

The shoes are wider than other mediums I have ordered. Wish shoe makers still made the lettered sizes, so I could get 7D. Tongue to top of shoe has a buckle that takes way from a professional look. Almost sent back due to looseness in width. Not really happy with them.

I don't know what's happened to Rockport, but their dress shoe quality has gone down precipitously. Almost all of their dress shoe options (if not all) have rubber soles, like sneakers, and the leather is very cheap and wrinkly. The shoes have almost no weight to them. If I were planning to run a marathon in them, this would be ok. But I want to wear them to the office and to formal occasions and they just feel too cheap and casual now. In the past, I've loved my Rockports (Evander is my favorite pair) because they're comfortable and sturdy/shiny, with proper dress shoe soles. But the company seems to have lost its way.
I'd also recommend:

I returned these shoes. The leather seemed really cheap and plastic-like. Very different from Rockport's I purchased two years ago. I acknowledge it is difficult to find dress shoes these days where the leather looks and feels like leather and not something fake.

Rockport Taylor: 2 big issues. 1) after the first wearing the polish came off any area that flexed. It looks like an old soft comfortable shoe. That is not the look I wanted after the first wearing. I re-polished but this leather will not hold polish. 2) The soul squeaks when I walk. This is unacceptable after only two months of use. I was enough disappointed that I will likely never buy a Rockport again.

The wide is actually tight across the toes at the base of the shoe, but with extra useless material that puffs up above the toes. It's as if the designer expects your foot to reshape itself to match the shoe.

I asked for this shoe as a birthday gift and received it last July. I've worn it maybe a dozen times and polished it three or four times because the finish wears off so easily. At this point I've just about given up. (I've tried to add a photo but have been unable.) Based on the many positive reviews I wonder if my shoes are a one off or rare case. I did notice a 3 star review mentioning quick wear. I've purchased and been happy with Rockport on a number of occasions, but this shoe is a disappointment.

I just received the shoes to my dismay. They don't know what is TAN compared to a BROWN.

I ordered this pair of shoes for my husband, but had to return them because they were scuffed. We reordered them, and the next pair that came was also scuffed! They were sent them back yet again. He loves the shoes but will not buy shoes that are already damaged. We ordered the same shoe (for the third time now) from a different website instead.
