Fit was fine after reading reviews and going 1/2 size down from normal. The big problem for me was the rubbing on the back of the ankle area with no cushioning was unbearable. The comfort was no greater than most other business casual shoes that cost less. It's too bad, because I could definitely feel the high quality of the materials.

Ordering 1/2 size down from my normal as others have advised proved to be "right on". Leather seems to be of good quality and I like the aesthetics (gray newbuck). Fit is somewhat loose or sloppy, but acceptable. The shoes feel like comfortable slippers; I would NOT choose to wear them if envisioning walking on cobblestones or broken sidewalks. In short, I think this pair of Mephisto shoes are overpriced for the quality that they deliver. Yes. I'm keeping them as I've worn out my older pair of (non-mephisto) gray newbuck shoes (which fit better and provide more secure support but, alas, are no longer available).

Mephisto shoes are sized different than other shoes. I normally wear an 11 in a Brooks but a 10 with Mephisto. Within Mephisto the sizing is consistent. I am a 10 1/2 to an 11 depending on brand. These shoes are comfortable out of the box. They are a sneaker without looking like a traditional sneaker.

I purchased 1/2 size smaller than I normally order because the web site suggested this shoe would fit better at that size. Once again Zappos thanks for the suggestion and perfect fit. I had these shoes many years ago and find they still live up to my expectations.

This shoe had zero arch support for me.

Great shoe! Had to return the first pair as size 12 (my regular size) was way too big. Size 11 was still too large but serviceable. Love the D ring eyelets!

Extremely comfortable

I never write reviews but this shoe is the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn! Maybe not the most stylish, but the most comfortable! I usually wear size 10.5 but with Mephisto I wear a 10.

The shoes were too large and too heavy. Even if I ordered the right size I believe the heaviness would have been something that I could not live with. The sole of the shoes squeaked annoyingly on my hardwood floors as well.
