I decided not to return these shoes for their lack of waterproof. Instead, I will use them exclusively for dry. I ordered the Hunter Original Mesh Short Boots to serve for wet grass. When ordering, remember only the rubber part of the uppers is waterproof. Water flows right through the mesh part.

Not waterproof, at all. My feet were soaked after 30 minutes of walking with dogs in the wet grass at the park. See pics. The pull tab at back of shoe is just a decoration. It doesn't function because it is too small for fingers, and it is not fastened at top of shoe back, so shoe back gets pushed down into shoe by the heel of the foot. On the good side: The pull tab is not needed because you can easily slip fingers down inside of the shoe back and pull the shoe back onto your heal that way. The shoe is very comfortable and easy to wear and remove. It comes with a memory foam flat insert that is very nice but could be replaced if arch support is needed. The rubber on the shoe bottom is solid rubber. Not lightweight foam that would quickly wear out. The style is sharp looking. I would love these shoes if they were waterproof, as described.
