The rain just sorta stays on the backpack

When I first saw this bag, it was love at first sight. I had been searching for a grownup backpack to use as a work bag and this met my criteria. The color, the liters, and the pocket layout. Previously, I had only used The North Face backpacks and I desperately needed a change. I came across this bag and I knew I had to have it. I waited until my birthday and I made the splurge. This was my first Vera Bradley purchase. When it arrived, I was very disappointed. Let me start with what I loved: the colors, the ample space, the ribbons on the zippers, and the the pocket layout. Seriously, you guys have the best pocket layout on the market. However, there were things that I did not like. From the moment I took the bag out of the packaging, there were threads loose. I had to cut loose threads like five times. Also, the material felt cheap. It really does not feel like a bag worth almost $200 dollars. The zippers were plastic and I was expecting higher quality zippers for the price I paid. Lastly, the straps had no padding and did not feel like they could withstand a typical load from a backpack (let alone the load I would have to carry to work). The straps definitely need to be fixed and/or made much more stronger. Ergonomically, I also feel like changes need to be made. For some reason, the biggest of the two main compartments is in the middle/sandwiched in between the second largest and the smaller front pockets. You should always carry the heaviest load in your bag closer to your back, and it only makes sense that the largest of the main compartments would be used to carry the heavier load. Sadly, these factors lead to my decision to return the bag. Although I was disappointed, I am still willing to give Vera Bradley another chance in the future if they take some of these considerations (materials, rearranging the main compartments, and better straps) in mind. You guys have really have some great features in your bags that could only be made even better.

To be honest I am not Thrilled. For a very expensive backpack, this is the 2nd one I had to buy for this school year. The one I purchased back in September 2023 already ripped. The only reason I re-purchased this bag is because it is the one my daughter wants.

Did not get to experience and would never want to anymore! Ordered this on the 27th of July. On august 11th, I followed up with them as no backpack was delivered up to that point. They told me it got lost in transit and offered just refund or replacement. Well my child's school started august 14th which means a replacement wouldn't have made it on time.. a refund wouldn't have solved the problem either. What I needed was a bag! I order online because I just had a baby, I wouldve gone to shop for a backpack if circumstances permitted. I had one question for them and was disregarded. What happened to the bag?!? I've ordered a new backpack from dagne Dover and they used the same carrier. No issues and came very fast! Of course I had to wait 3 days after school started, kuddos to dagne Dover, and no thanks to you Vera Bradley.

I am unhappy with my purchase of the XL Campus Backpack. It is alot smaller than it should be. I had ordered one for my daughter for school 3 years ago and loved the size. It was big enough to hold all of her books and supplies. The one I received for Christmas is way to small and I have lost my packing slip and cannot return. Will not be buying online anymore from Vera Bradley.
