Shimano is always a great shoe but I suggest to go a half size larger than your foot, especially for people with flat arches.

These shoes really made a difference in comfort when cycling. I have had surgery to my left foot and the shoes help support the foot during class. Glad I purchased!

Good construction
In this shoe, Size 40 translates to US women's size 7.8, so slightly tighter than a true US size 8. A 41 would be too big.
Counting on some give in shoe over time for a better fit.
