The reason the strap goes to the inside it is easier to adjust while on the bike. Those strips at the end of the belt are meant to be cut if to long. that is why the have strips. read up on manual. Shimano knows what they are doing when they make their shoes. these are tri-specific shoes. many triathletes clip the shoe on the pedal before mountinting the bike in T-2. Makes for an easier transition. pulling tab inside shoe to adjust makes for a easier transition, Cut those extra long tabs along the lines and you'll be amazed once you get to know your shoe.

This was my first online biking shoe purchase, so there was some risk and uncertainty. The fit was exactly as needed...snug but not tight.

Ordered this man's 41; I was a 41 in the older/different model TR9 and this works great. I used to need a footbed in my old shoe but not in this. I think the old shoe was women's 9. I use this shoe for triathlons (amateur level) and really like it so far.

I really like the comfort and the fit of these shoes, and the looks as well, but my complaint, which is a big one, is why the heck did the make the large strap go toward the bike pedals???? For me personally, I like to cinch mine up fairly snug, and when I do that, the large strap sometimes rubs against the bike pedals. Every other pair of tri shoe I have is the opposite. This is the only reason these aren't getting a 5 star rating overall. FYI - These are used for my Peloton.
