These are very attractive boots, but I don't buy for appearance. I look for safety, comfort and quality. There's very little information in the box about the shoes, other than that they have composite toes, and are waterproof and slip-resistant. Since there wasn't a 14w, I ended up with 14m, and that was the fatal blow.
These shoes are true to length but run narrow. Normally I wear a 13M but, because of the composite toe taking up so much space in the toebox of most brands, I ordered a size up. It didn't help; the shoebox was rubbing both sides of my toes, so I recommend that people try to order a size wider rather than longer (good luck finding it a size wider).
The outsoles are very, very rugged looking, have a firm but rubbery texture that suggests good grip, and thus would probably work well in a wide variety of situations. I can easily imagine them being great for rock hiking. Unfortunately, they didn't provide the test results, so it's mystery as to how well they handle wet/icy/greasy/oily surfaces. This isn't unusual - I've only seen such info with Timberland Pro products I've tried.
The shaft squeezes tightly around the ankle - even loosening the laces didn't alleviate that pressure fully. I'm also not entirely sure that they'll easily stay tied - the laces seem like the type that might spontaneously untie, although I can't say for sure.
The insoles are more comfortable than most of the other brands and models I've tried, although the comfort depth (how far you can push it down) is relatively shallow (but still one of the better ones).
Returning.

Usually order 4e width in shoes and ordered 5e in these boots. They were way to narrow even being 5e. Had to return.

I ordered a 4E in width and these were still to narrow. I normally only need wide or 2E in other brands. Very stiff even after 2 weeks of wear and the tounge digs into the top of my ankle

The quality and looks of the boots are not the problem in this case. At first they seemed fine and confortable but after a couple of days I felt that they were not really WIDE. My pinky toe is forced under the 4th toe since there is really no room for it. I'm extremely disappointed.

The feel like heavy bricks when wearing them, and they take a long time to get worn in?

I have a wide foot. Width is great. No support in sole. Felt like walking in blown out flip flops on concrete. Shoe uppers rubbed my ankles ro the bone.

They could use a better insole. The inside has no support. Needs more padding around the ankles

the boots felt too small, they rub at the ankles, plus the toes curled back against the upper , causing more pain, and after just a couple days , they developed a smell like formayldahide , that I have been unable to get rid of. There was no room for gel insoles , and the arch support was too high on the inside of each boot. I have flat feet and it hurt to wear these boots.

I've heard good thing about Throuogood and Keen. So I might try one of those.

They were very uncomfortable, and the toes curled backwards, causing me pain. They felt smaller in length and width. They rubbed against my ankles, causing bruises. The toe caps weren't smooth, an wore blisters on the sides of my toes, and couldn't put any work insoles in them , as no extra room.
The boots developed a smell , similar to formaldehyde, after a couple days. And now after 7 months of discomfort, they are coming apart at the seams.

5E? No Way! Felt like an E at best. Way too narrow. Avoid if you have anything wider than a D width.
