As others have written, these shoes are loose at the heel. I ordered a size down and they fit perfectly. The inner soles are a bit unforgiving so they need to be broken in a bit but a few wears did that. The look is terrific.

great looking shoe, comfortable but Dansko size 36 will never be a 5-5.5, it is sized a generous 6, too large for me and I tried everything to make this fit. Wish they would offer more 35 size shoes but ...oh, well, back it goes.

I put these on and was so HAPPY with the feel of them on my feet straight out of the box! I wore them around the house and was excited when my orthotics fit in nicely. Unfortunately, after the first day out with them, I found that my feet kept slipping towards the front and ultimately found them to run on the large side. This was disappointing as I do think they are adorable and comfortable, but I own two other pairs of Dansko sneakers in the same size so I'm not sure why these felt so much larger.

It looks ok, but it is too flat and straight. My feet doesn't fall comfortably on this shape.

These shoes are really cute... but I have fussy feet and the insole was a deal breaker for me. The padding on the inner sole rolled my foot out to the outer edge and it just felt weird. i think because there was no structure to push your foot back toward the center. please note *i am a high feeler, i think the average person would not be bothered by this at all, but I do think it is worth noting for others like me...

Cute shoe, but not for flat feet. This was a roomy shoe. I typically take 8.5 and it felt a half-size too long. I have very low arches, and my main issue was the amount of room between my feet and the top of the shoe. I returned them. Will give Dansko another shot and try a half-size smaller.

Felt stiff and too narrow in my toes. Attractive shoe. I have wide toe box

Ordered a 41 and felt too big, had to tie very tight and then didn't look right but think a 40 would be too short. Another walking shoe that just doesn't work for me.

nice shoe, well made, smooth insides with no rough irritating spots. but its quite firm i.e. little cushion. also requires a fat foot to fill the shoe and my feet are ay too thin.

I liked how these looked and the fit was pretty good, but could not get over how hard the insole was...they need more cushion! I might have been able to walk in them a mile or so or put in a cushy insert, but decided for the money and what I wanted them for (travel), they were going back.

Very flexible, lightweight. Pitches to the inside and lacks support.

These are dark gray not black! They are made from very thin unlined leather. Good if that's what you want, but I'm used to getting a little more substantial shoe from Dansko. Out of the box, they look kinda plain and clunky. They also run big. But maybe I'll like them better if they were the right size--I'll try a smaller size.

My regular size 8 was too big, I went down a size and although it fit, it was a bit tight. The shoe is extremely light and the material looks cheap. I mostly own Dansko due to foot problems. I wanted to love this shoe, but it did not work for me.

I love Dansko shoes but these did not fit the same as others have in the past. I am always a 39 but the 39 was too large and the 38 did not my orthotics for plantar fasciitis properly in the arch. So disappointed as I like the shoe's style and color ( really a weathered charcoal not a true black)

Slipped on the heel. Narrower than what I was expectiong from Dansko. Going over the river and through the woods back to Zappos.

The european sizes really cheat size 12, which I need. These shoes are just too small. Also, the last of the shoe seems built for a size 10 (U.S.) as the "arch" falls too far back toward the heel. It seems they just made a larger size by adding to the toe length, rather than fully proportion the shoe to a size 12. I have to put up with ill-fitting shoes because I do not have too many options in my shoe size. This is such one ill-fitting shoe.

I love the look of these shoes but months after purchase they hurt my feet and still leave blisters and bruises near my ankle.

I'm between size 8 1/2 and 9, so ordered a 9, and predictably they feel a bit large, but nothing I couldn't live with, particularly with thick socks. However, I just don't like the way they look -- kind of like gussied up nurse's shoes.

I am an 11.5 and ordered the size 42 which is SUPPOSED to be a size 11.5-12. NOT! I'd say at most it is a size 11. The heel is too wide, the ball of the foot too narrow. These are quite expensive for a sneaker-look shoe, and although they are made very well, the sizing has not been fully fashioned. I am keeping them anyway, as I really am at a need for shoes. They graced me with blisters on my little toes the first day, and the heel slips constantly. These shoes are probably just fine in the smaller sizes, but I suspect the larger sizes are made with a man's last since the heel is too wide. I can keep corn pads in stock, but what to do about the heel?

Did not even try on. The smell from the shoes was overwhelming. Came one day and sent back the next. Another reviewer said the same thing. They may have fit perfectly, but the smell was terrible. Too bad.
