I have been wearing my Atom LT from 2yrs ago non-stop. The best jacket I have ever owned. Ordered another as mine is starting to show signs of wear, but the fit has been changed and now the arms and under arm are too tight. Very sad to see that the perfect fit has been updated to uncomfortable. Returned it, hoping that you will correct this back to a better fit.

Wore this jacket around town for a few days after buying it and was very pleased. I was able to shovel our driveway in -20 and was comfortable.
I went for a day snowshoeing trek with a day pack and when I got home there was a wear mark and hole where my hip belt was laying on the side stretch panel. For the price it's disapointing that it's already damaged.

My year older coat fits wonderfully and allows a lot of freedom of movement. The coat just purchased from new stock has armholes that feel smaller in diameter or have the bottoms located higher in the armpit/chest area. Bummer because the jacket does not pass the comfort test. About me: suit size 40R, fit, but not overly buffed.

I like the Atom LT but not as much as the SL. It's very breathable on it's own and warm under a shell. I'm not a huge fan of it for hiking or any other high output activity because I generate a lot of heat when active. That being said I'm probably one of the few that feels this way though.

It's lightweight and compressible, which is great.
But -- even on light activities such as walking on the flat, heat can and does build up around the wrists and under the armpits, and it can't escape.
So the garment would be better if it had cuffs that open and shut, and a zip at the armpit.

This is a great piece of gear. Fits the light duty days and works well under a shell layer, however its not tough enough to be a stand alone piece for hard days of thrashing on rock with tools or hands . It's quite fragile. I don't find the venting on the side helps that much, gotta open the jacket up to get it to breath. It does move nice during climbing, the sleeve/shoulder articulation is great. However, the pockets are useless if you are wearing a harness.

This is my first Arc'teryx item and I purchased this jacket about a month ago (Feb 2014). I have been a long time MHW and TNF wearer and wanted to try something new. I have worn it quite a bit before reviewing it. I live in Kentucky and this has been a very interesting winter. Literally, we have had 4 seaons in one month, so this jacket has really seen everything (temps low as -10, windchill lower, snow, freezing rain, rain, wind, and temps as warm as 70) and I wore the jacket through everything (well maybe not when it was 70 degrees).
I am 5'9'' 150lbs and got a large because I planned on wearing a layer under it more times than not. When I don't have a layer underneith it's a little big which was expected.
Some things I like about it is that it is warm. The coreloft technology works great and wind does not get it. You really don't know how warm the jacket is until you take it off. It really traps in body heat. The jacket looks very good, I've gotten a lot of compliments on it. I'm a big fan of the cuffs. They are stretchy and fit well. The fleece in the hand pockets feels great and keeps your hands toasty. I really like the weight of the jackets, super lightweight and packable.I have worn it in the rain (light and heavy rain) and it shed water okay but not like a rain jacket. The jacket does stay warm when it is wet though, but I would rather have a shell over this jacket if you are exposed to rain for a while. When the hood is on, you can almost instantly feel your body heat being trapped. The hood is a little on the large size (to accomadate a helmet I guess) and since there are no drawstrings, if you get a full face of wind, its going right down the hood and into your core.
The biggest con I have with the jacket is the side vents. A stretchy fleece type material runs from the bottom to a little past the armpits. This is the jackets greatest downfall. Wind WILL pass through this like a hot knife through butter. I understand the concept of why they put it there (to release excess body heat) but they could have found a better way to do this. I mentioned the hand pockets, I like them but the fleece is only on one side of the pockets. If it was on both sides it would be great. It has one inside pocket and I'm not a fan of the placement. It is midway down the jacket as opposed to where the chest is. If you need something from there you have to zip your jacket down down a little farther than you would like to. A pro and a con is the top of the jacket (collar) I like the length of it, it covers the neck. But the top has no chin guard so when the jacket is zipped up all the way its a little rough round the chin which is irritatiing.
Overall the jacket is just average. I am not hating on the jacket at all but I personally found there were more cons than pros. I am not overly impressed with it which is kind of a disappointment for it being my first Arc'teryx purchase. Before I purchased the jacket, I read all of the reviews and they seemed positive and decided to go with it. While the jacket is not a major let down, I feel it could be much improved. Thanks for reading.

I've been wearing this jacket as my go to mid layer for 13 years, in a medium, and it's always been my favourite layer. I'm really disappointed by the new fit- the medium is way bigger, and super baggy. The new small seems to fit the same as the old medium, except the sleeves are way shorter. Now I'll have to choose between cold wrists or a baggy jacket that doesn't fit underneath additional layers, which is kind of the point of a layering system vs. a coat to wear around town. it's getting really hard to find a brand that makes technical wear for women with an athletic build. Make this in a tall maybe?? You were the only brand I could always count on to fit me :(

Last year I was interested in buying the Atom hoodie, but I ended up not getting it because it didn't fit right when I tried it on in the store. I am not a "curvy" woman, but the hip area was still way too tight. When I sized up, the top part was way too big. In addition to the cut, I found the coat proportions in general did not fit me. Nothing seemed to fall in the right place. I am 5 feet tall and the coat was cut to fit tall women. This could also be why the hip area didn't fit - it was probably falling too low. Still, I think widening the hip area could help the coats fit better on a wider range of women. All of the Arcteryx coats that I tried on seemed to have this issue. It would really be nice to have petite sizing - but please don't just shorten the coats and think that will work - the length of the arm holes, sleeves, and torso need to be adjusted too. Ultimately I was really disappointed. The coat is attractive, well made and would have been perfect for my hiking trip, but it unfortunately didn't fit right.

The jacket itself is mostly really good in terms of fit and insulation and weatherproofing, but the cuffs on the sleeves drive me absolutely crazy every single day. They're cinched super small and there's no option to have them be more open, they're sewn like that. It's impossible to wear a watch on your wrist and still wear this jacket. It makes the whole jacket really awkward for layering or wearing gloves. It's so bad I'm considering paying to alter it to cut the cuffs off. I even have tiny wrists but I still hate the cuffs. I'm never buying another jacket with cuffs like this again.

Very disappointed in how little warmth this puffy has - seems as though it's just another Arcteryx product that has taken a nosedive in quality. I can no longer confidently recommend this puffy (or this entire brand) for backcountry use - Arcteryx is an urban lifestyle brand now. It's only redeeming quality is the fit, which is pretty decent for an athletic/lean build. Other than that, it's nothing to write home about.
For reference, I wore this resort skiing with a merino baselayer, a fleece, and a shell, and was still on the cold side (temp was hovering around -2).

I was enthralled by the new Yukon color of the classic atom jacket and purchased with hopes it might replace my aging atom jacket. Unfortunately the fit is much changed and the jacket no longer fits my shorter torso. I'm not looking for this jacket to go past my bum, as I have proper coats designed for that. I recognize there are taller gals out there than I but I really miss being able to wear Arcteryx. I ended up returning the jacket unfortunately.

This is my 3rd purchase of this jacket. Like the previous reviews, fit was much much better before. I originally bought my usual size a medium (I'm 5.8, 125lbs) and way too big. Then repurchased the small and it just doesn't have the same fit. Sleeves are short and jacket is boxy. I'll keep it as it is nice for shelf seasons, but not thrilled with the changes. On top of that, quality seems diminished. Ver small run in fabric already and worn twice. Not worth sending back, just overall disappointed.

I bought this jacket for my boyfriend in 2020. He wears it for everyday casual wear. It does keep him warm and it is lightweight. However, the fabric around the collar and the areas where the car's seatbelt strap lies over is pilling. I don't expect this issue for a mid price item. I don't know if this is normal wear and tear.

I bought this jacket and really liked the fit/weight but it is incredibly fragile. After only wearing it out a few times, I wore this for a XC ski on Jackson Lake in GTNP and by the end of the day there were two small holes that continued to grow. Stuffing kept coming out and I had to patch them. I did not ski through any trees or anything that could have caused tears and I'm always really careful with my gear. I think this would be a good jacket if the most physical activity you get into is posting pictures of yourself in exotic locations but if you're looking for a good hoody to actually use for outdoor pursuits, I'd look elsewhere.

Took off the backpacks me and my wife had on over these jackets and the belts ruined the fabric in the front on both jackets. Emailed Arcteryx with pictures and they said nothing they could do. Its a wear issue. So maybe i should hike in 30 weather in a t- shirt. Bad material. Wont buy again

This jacket fits and feels amazing. However, it sustains abrasion damage very easily when you wear a backpack or other forms of strapped bags with it. Even my 4lb pack managed to put some unsightly damages on it. What happens is anything abrasive will pull on the material and pull little threads out of the it, leaving it looking like a crumpled scar on the jacket. I hope this is fixed in future iterations of jacket. Looks like I'll have to contact warranty service for mine.

I owned a 2020 version of size M and it did fit me perfectly. This new version of size M is larger and the zipper goes way too up to cover the throat that it becomes uncomfortable when wearing it for too long. Not satisfied. Looking all ways to buy the 2020 version instead but not available anywhere!

I bought the new atom about a month ago and was out for hike and the sleeve ripped very easily. The material that is used for this jacket is not the same as my old one. I am very disappointed with the quality of this jacket and for the price point it is not worth it anymore. I really liked this jacket but there is many more alternatives that are cheaper and better than this product. It's still warm and decent in the rain but not the same. Definitely went downhill. Would recommend you look at different alternatives. I have used the old one climbing, hiking, fishing and not a tear anywhere or a look of wear but the new one looks like it's 5 years old already. Not happy at all and really wish I didn't buy this

I got this hoody as a Christmas gift and enjoyed it for two months as a lightweight but warm layer during the winter season. I was looking forward to wearing it through the spring as well but unfortunately, the sleeve of the jacket ripped, leaving a very noticeable hole. For a jacket that claims to be durable and able to withstand years of packing and unpacking, this ripping is very disappointing.

I bough this jacket for my girlfriend because the advertising color was Mesmer and appears to be a bright pink. Unfortunately the photo and the actual jacket are not alike. The Mesmer color is Purple and don't let images fool you. So if anyone from the company actually reads these reviews, it's time to take better marketing photos and stop misleading potentail buyers. We will be returning the jacket. Poor show.

Please get better with your color selection. I have momentum, continuum, folklore, rhapsody, kingfisher as examples. Tatsu in the Atom SL. Ranger green on these would be nice. I wear it all the time.

I have owned this jacket for about a year. Overall I am pleased with it except the waist tightening band has warped. I can honestly say I have never even used the band, so that is disappointing. I also noticed some of fabric starting to come apart in a certain area. I contacted customer support and I initially was only offered a small patch for the fabric. Nobody addressed the waist band problem I was encountering. I understand they are busy for the holidays, but it has been over 2 months and I still haven't heard back. I was hoping after spending serious $$ on this jacket the customer service would be better.
