Rips easily and cannot be repaired. Melts easily in the presence of flame, cigarettes, stove etc. Otherwise it has the weight of one of Marylin Monroes's slips and the warmth of her heart! This is my second one 'cos the first one got melted at the wrists when I was cooking which was tolerable but then it got ripped across the stomach area from a crowd control barrier and looked really ugly with it's down exposed.

I agree mostly with all the positive reviews of the atom LT. Its a great light jacket for active use (beware thorns). Its not as warm as everyone likes to believe, but its a great layering piece under a shell (I wear mine under my Beta AR and Modon on really cold days). BUT it is not very beard friendly. My neck and chin wiskers are constantly getting snagged painfully in the zipper and even the stretchy piping around the collar. The reason is the draft/chin guard is puny, it would be nice if it was enlarged and maybe even wrapped over the top so the zipper could nestle into it at the top. The zipper is both nice and easy to zip and annoying because it doesn't stay zipped up very firmly. It would also be nice if this thing had an adjustable hood. Watch the video on how to stuff it into its sleeve, its pretty cool. Still a nice light jacket, perfect weight for all of fall, but fix the chin guard!

If you buy this jacket, which I would highly recommend , you will likely end up wearing it to death, i.e. for everything, everywhere, all seasons, like I did. Here are a couple notes of things I noticed after extended wear and tear: The stretchy side panels of the jacket will stretch out. I wish I had bought the jacket a size smaller (it would have been a little snug at first, but after time I think that would have been a better fit). If you don't want the side panel material to pill (mine did after the first few washes), always wash it inside out. The outer fabric is so soft and lightweight it feels beautiful on, but it stains and attracts dirt like no other technical jacket I own. Expect to wash this piece lots and look after stains before they set.

Amazing for weight. Fits small. Liked everything about this jacket for damp or cool weather except for the gussets under the sleeves. When the wind is blowing or your riding your bike you can feel the cold air on your sides and under your arms. Mine got stolen so I am replacing it with an SV hoody and will report back.

I bought this jacket in the fall of 2011 and wore it just about everyday through winter. It is extremely comfortable and gets quite warm with very little activity. The medium fits me perfectly as I am 6", lengthly and 150 pounds. Mostly used in transit, I decided to take this jacket up to the mountains where it performed as expected. The coreloft kept me warm but the side stitching provided ample ventilation. The Durable Water Repellent was fantastic when I first got the jacket but it seems to have "worn off" and not perform as well having worn this jacket everyday in rainy Vancouver. I am aware that this is not meant to be used as a rain jacket and the lifespan of this would probably last longer with proper use. Overall this is a fantastic lightweight jacket with unmatched comfort and warmth. The fit is perfect for me and I would highly recommend this jacket for use in the fall winter and early spring.

It looks like the fleece is going the way of the dodo thanks to this item. Brilliantly warm for such a light weight. Fit and shape are just fantastic. The only thing I could suggest is that the power stretch panel does not really need to run the full length of the side of the jacket. I'd lenghten it down the arm by an inch or two but at the same time it really only needs to start just below the nipple level. This would still provide good breathability while increasing the wind resistance of the garment. Another classic from Arcteryx and one I'll instantly replace should I need to!

This jacket has a great 'performance' fit cut although I had to drop down from a Medium to a Small to get the best 'mid-layer' fit. The jacket is amazingly light, the sleeve is nice and slim with very neat cuffs. There are two main issues really, first is the zip which has no garage and slides very easily-good if you want to vent quickly though and secondly the hood has no volume adjust on it making it virtually redundant when the jacket is worn as an outer layer. This is a real shame as I've seen very neat hood adjustments recently which add very little weight or bulk.

This is my 5th different Arcteryx jacket over the years and one of my favorites. So far I've found it comfortable (with only a T-shirt underneath) down to the mid-40's. I'd say its warmth is comparable to a mid/heavy-weight fleece with a windbreaker over it. In the backcountry I can use it down close to freezing when it's over a long-sleeve lightweight wool top, and under a rainshell. The hood adds a lot of warmth for minimal weight and confusion, although with the sacrifice of adjustment. My favorite part are the cuffs, which provide a really nice stretchy, secure fit (unlike some other Arcteryx cuff designs). They are perfectly low profile and wear well under a hardshell, and/or along with gloves. Fit and quality are typical Arcteryx best in the business. I really like the clean design that's free of the sewn thru seams you see all across most other synthetic-insulated jackets, and also has a nice matte finish to the shell material, rather than the glossy sheen of most insulated outdoor pieces. My only complaints (as I've seen others mention) is that the main zipper easily comes down on it's own. Arcteryx really needs to change this to a locking/stiffer zipper design. Also, the fleece sides/underarms have begun pilling after two seasons, and hold odor much more than the rest. I wish they'd just use a low profile nylon there instead. But these are slight annoyances for what otherwise is a perfect insulating mid-layer.

The Atom LT has a very nice fit for a middle/outer layer - nice and tight. It has a good warmth in it. The stretch part sidepanels work surprisingly well to dump heat when it gets too much. Also a problem though, when it's windy and you are not active. The cold wind blows right in under your arms... But that's where a shell jacket comes in handy. I'm a bit disappointed with the hood. There is no way of tightening it around your face and it is not small/tight enough to stay where in place. Also, when not using the hood, the neck opening in the jacket is pretty big and lets a lot of cold and wind sneak in.

If I am going out for a walk or going to ascend a mountain, I bring the Atom LT. In the winter I use it as a stand-alone jacket for shorter periods outdoors or under my Alpha LT in colder more windy conditions + Light Packs very small Covers a great range of activity level depending on temperature - No way to tighten down the hood

I love the weight and insulating qualities of this jacket, but wish it was a bit shorter to fit my 5' 4 " height, 120 lbs, & full chested torso. So either make a petite size to fit us more compact gals, or include a cinch cord in the bottom of jacket to shorten it up a bit for us shorter folks. A medium size fits my shoulders and chest, though a bit more narrow than I like. This has stopped me from purchasing more of this jacket, though I wish I could.

I love using this jacket as a midlayer on warmer fall and winter days. My only issue with it is the hips are still too narrow, and the jacket starts to ride up above my waist and butt. I personally need to use the women's version since the men's has too narrow of a waist, but the women's version doesn't have enough room in the chest, shoulders, and waist.

Nearly 5 stars but...... This jacket has had it's cut/pattern changed to fit longer in the torso. If you're tall in the torso - great! This will serve you well and is truly a bomb proof and incredibly high performing and cosy jacket! I've owned one for 9 years and wore/loved it non stop until it's recent death. I purchased a new one but sadly most of us women aren't tall in the torso and the new fit just feels off and unflattering on me now. It sits tight on my hips and the extra few inches of length annoys and restricts my body. I miss the boxier cut that ended just below my hips as I could move more freely, plus I thought it looked much more flattering this length too! Heart breaking after owning the older cut for many years and loving the way it fit and felt. Please, PLEASE, please Arc'teryx; bring back your cute boxy cut for us shorter women!

Great jacket, lightweight, yet warm. Please come up with brighter colors, as they used to be. I would like to have another bright red, blue, teal, something fun!

I love the jacket, but I had to return it because of the sizing issue. There's a huge size difference between large and Extra large. The shoulders are very wide like as if the jacket was only meant for Olympic swimmers. Arcteryx, I love your style but you need to fix the fit and sizing issue.

So I love the warmth, and the quality of there materials, but it's not fitted enough. The sides being stretchable allows the front to sag. And the had pockets are too small.

The purple color is very beautiful and the reason I am keeping it is because of its color! However, the material is not thick and limits its use to early fall or late spring. I cannot imagine to wear this in winter or any cold weather. I ordered Large and Xlarge and at the end I kept the XL. The sizing is not good. The large one was tight on bust and good on waist. The XL was good on bust but too big on waist. So, if you have large bust size, I recommend going one size big but at the same time it will be big in waist. I wish Arcteryx jackets were a little bigger in bust area since I have the same issue with their Beta AR series.

I bought this to test out the new fit. Overall I've been impressed with the design and quality of materials selected for products. The fit has always been the reason I've not purchased. I WANT to like the fit, but even with the new sizing and the stretch side gusset, the jacket is riding up above my hips. I'm also a bit unsure if I like the fabric feel, it's almost too synthetic feeling. Lastly, the cuffs are tight. There doesn't seem to be a lot of give which may be the dealbreaker for me in using this jacket regularly. From a sizing perspective I think the brand is still missing the boat by designing for a limited size profile. There are plenty of folks with the funds to invest in the product, but the fit is nearly always the issue.

Fit is everything and unfortunately this didn't work out bought medium, shoulders and chest fit perfect. Waist way to baggy/boxy, sleeves were also quite loose and too long. Would have sized down but small too tight along the chest. Arcteryx sizing is no longer for athletes unfortunately..

Jacket is nice, comfy and warm while being light, however the fabric is likely to break or open up within a year. I've been using mine regularly for day to day stuff and have multiple scrapes like this. According to the company, it can't be fix (other than a plasticky patch on it?). Definitely not worth the $ of the jacket, I am quite disappointed.

Schade.
