When I went on a hunt for some warmer insulating layers I was shown this Atom LT Hoody and immediately I knew it was what I needed. I have had the Jacket for two months now and I have never been more comfortable outside. This jacket is perfect for an insulating layer under my hard shell or a light but warm layer on its own. The fit is fantastic! The torso falls to the perfect spot on my hips, the sleeves are exactly the right length, and the hood fits over any and every way I wear my hair that day. This is my first piece of Arc'teryx clothing of my own although I'm surrounded by it as a climber. I am very pleased with my purchase and cannot wait to find out what else Arc'teryx has to offer. The only jacket I had as of two months ago was a Helly Hansen hard shell rain jacket. My rain jacket has been durable enough to act as my primary jacket for over two years but has never been warm enough for my trips Rock Town, The New, and The Red during some of the colder months. I continuously found myself shivering from the harsh winds and sun blocked ampitheaters. This Atom LT Hoody has solved all my problems. The only downfall to this hoody is that the zipper tends to slide down when I have it partially zipped over my bust. This is one "con" compared to many "pros" I have found out of the Jacket. I recommend this Atom LT Hoody to anyone and everyone!

This is an excellent jacket that has exceded my expectations. I'm 6', 155lbs, and the medium fit perfectly. The slimmer cut fit me much better than competing products, creating a warmer jacket as a result (not as much excess space to keep warm). The fit enables the jacket to be worn as a mid layer or as a stand alone outer layer. I found myself leaving my shell in the pack a lot more though. The hood somehow fits great when worn under or over a helmet. The simple cuff design works well when dealing with any type of shell and glove combination. I've primarily used this jacket for early season ice climbing in the NE and have used it paired with only a hooded base layer with temperatures in the teens or wet conditions in the mid 30's and stayed warm and dry every time. I had high expectations for this piece and it exceeded them.

This is a great piece of kit. I have had two both in black. One had a black interior and one grey. I preferred the grey lining. The Atom hoody is pretty versatile and can be used all year round. It looks great with its trim fit. It oozes quality! If you are thinking of buying - don't delay!

The appearance is Sharp, the fit is ideal, it feels cozy, keeps you warm, and for it being so light, it is incredibly functional! I have a very long torso, very long arms, and brood through the shoulders, and tend to be more on the athletic side. I am a 34 in the rib cage ( I am a full B cup, I am sure the medium would fit up to a C) I bought a women's medium. This is the first women's coat I purchased anticipating the fit would be long enough in the arms and torso also hoping it would function like I needed it to.
I gave this coat five stars because Its exactly what I was hoping for. This is the best fitting women's coat I have ever purchased. Don't be skeptical about the lightweight factor, I was pleasantly surprised how warm this jacket is! This is also perfect travel jacket it compacts quite nicely.

I only recently got this piece and cannot believe how much temperature variations in which you can wear this jacket and not be too hot or not warm enough. I have hiked in extremely cold weather with the Atom LT under my Theta shell and not gotten soaked. Today in the Wasatch the weather was clear and very cold, below zero. I wore the Atom LT with no shell and was warm and comfortable all day. This garment is truly extraordinary. By the way, you ask old the review happens to be, I am old as dirt and born at the time of the dinosaurs.

This jacket is so comfortable it barely even feels like your wearing anything. It keeps me surprisingly warm for how thin it is. The LT keeps me warm down to about 40-35 depending on what I'm wearing underneath. I got the small and I'm 5'4" 130lbs. It fits great- close fitting but not tight. The azulene color is really pretty but the pink on the inside is very bright. I can definitely recommend this and the SV. So glad I bought both of them!

Absolutely love this jacket! It's the most versatile piece of clothing i have ever owned. It keeps me warm in the fall/spring easily and is so breathable that i can jog/ski/move without sweating buckets. I throw a hardshell (Beta AR) over it and will be more than comfortable moving about in winter down to -15C, again with the option to vent out excess heat.
However, the Atom LT is not perfectly wind proof (the inability to cinch up the hood makes wind this jacket's worse enemy), and even with a hardshell over it, the combo is not worm enough for standing around at -20C. But, the Atom LT fits so well under other layers that any of my other, older coats or jacket can become instantly winter-ready with the Atom LT layered underneath. For the -35C and under days i layer the Atom LT under my Atom SV and am bombproof.
Remains my only insulatated jacket than can be worn year-round, from summer evenings to winter nights. Loved this so much that i bought one for my dad, in-laws, cousins... Everybody's loved it.
I'm 5'9'' 140 lb and the small fits perfectly

This is hands down one of the best pieces of outdoor gear I have purchased, very much worth the price. I have owned other synthetic down jackets from other companies and while they have been good this jacket is great. The Coreloft insulation that Arc'teryx uses is vastly superior to anything else one the market. It insulates very well while also being unbelievably breathable. I can wear the Atom LT all day, indoors and out, and never feel uncomfortable. One of the best things about the jacket though is its cuffs. The design of the cuffs is absolutely flawless, they hug your wrists in a way that keeps the cold out yet is totally comfortable. The Atom LT is also extremely light, even more so than other comparable synthetic down jackets from other companies. The only small issue I would have with the jacket is that it does fit me somewhat short in the front, I wish they would have provided slightly more coverage there but this is a very minor issue. This jacket has phased out all the others I own to be the only jacket I reach for every morning.

Not sure why, but there was skepticism to first believe that this jacket could be as good as everyone claimed since it doesn't feel like anything; however, another convert there is, as this is as warm and comfortable as advertised. Wearing only a Motus short sleeve underneath, it felt normal in temperatures around 0 celsius and didn't cause overheating even at 10 celsius. This is much superior than anything else in terms of lightness, pack-ability, windproof and even water resistance. It's feels like smooth sleeping bag material, except softer. The jacket drapes well and matches Arcteryx's sizing's. Unfortunately, this jacket may just replace all others...

I picked this bad boy up as insulation under my Alpha SV jacket. When I first put it on, I found the hood to be very odd. No way to cinch up the opening so I was at first unimpressed with that part of the design. Otherwise a great piece of equipment that is really light and surprisingly warm given its size. Back to the hood issue, I put the Atom on, then I put my Alpha SV jacket on, and since I live in Vancouver and it rains for 8 months of the year, I put the hood on the Atom up and then put the hood of my Alpha jacket on and it all made sense. I have never in my life owned an umbrella and when it rains I just put my hood on and thus am 100% waterproof.

I bought the atom lt in the wheat grass, and size large and the color is very accurate to the picture. The sizing on this piece is very accurate; I am mostly a large in everything I wear (6'1", 195lbs, 42inch chest, 33inch waist) and it fits like a charm.
I will start off by saying that this jacket is very unassuming. It is unbelievably light, yet very very warm. I have worn it the past three days in the remnants of hurricane sandy in Ann Arbor, Michigan (30-40F, wind chill 20F, rain, sleet, snow, 30mph winds), and it has done me wonders. If i put a light fleece underneath the atom i am VERY warm with the 20F wind chill. amazing. Yet, when it gets around 55F with a slight breeze, this jacket is perfect with just a t-shirt under neath. Its like the jacket knows the temperature outside and decides how warm to be.
The zippers all work great, and i love the placement of the pockets (not too low, but not too high where they are at my chest). The outside lining of the pockets have nice microfleece to them, but the inside lining that goes against your body does not, it is just the smooth fabric lining of the jacket.. I am not sure why they made it like this, but the pockets would be much warmer if they had done it right. The inner chest pocket is also not really a chest pocket. It is somewhere in between so that when you put something in there it sags down to take up space of the left hand pocket. Its just kinda awkward. All of these are very small gripes, and I love this jacket. It goes with me everywhere now.
I will update when I have had more rigorous use with it!

In winter month I live in my Atom LT jacket. Its covers a wide range of temperatures and can be worn as mid layer or stand alone piece which is surprisingly resistant to wind and light rain and even to abrasion by rock. No need for pit zips since the fleece inserts under the arms breathes so well. My only gripe is the nonadjustable hood which would make this piece even better. The arm sleeves slip perfectly under a hardshell layer and work great together with gloves.
More than enough pockets and still in good shape even in it's 3rd season.

I've had my Atom LT hoody for about 3 winter's now, and although I would classify myself as a gear hound (re: I'm constantly buying new gear and selling old gear), I still find myself coming back to this piece time and time again. It's amazingly versatile, especially if paired with a super light Gore-Tex shell (Alpha FL or something similar) for long touring days, mountaineering trips, etc.
And as an added bonus, if you roll the jacket up into the hood, it makes for a decent pillow (so you can save weight by not having to carry one on backpacking trips). Legit!

This piece is always in my backpack or in my car waiting for me to put it on. It insulate great, breathe much better in underarms compare to Patagonia Nano Puff where I was wet underarms when working hard. Really recommend this piece for replacing fleece jacket.

This is my first Arc'teryx product. Elegant details made this jacket a standout.. I took it with me on a month-long camping and sailing adventure to Australia. While many reviewers talked about it being warm in seriously cold temperatures, I found it to be perfectly comfortable in milder temps. It was great in the cool evenings and chilly early mornings, and perfect for windy sailing into the evenings. The pockets are comfy cozy. The inside pocket is roomy. Best of all, it packs into something that takes up about as much space as my birding field guide - only it weighs about as much as 6 paper clips. The jacket moves with you. It's not just about function, it's about stylish design. It'll be my go-to jacket from now on. My Patagonia down sweater jacket will be taking a back seat.

I bought this hoody a few months ago after realizing that all of my down jackets have no hoodies. My cloth cotton "designer" hoodies would not fit the bill as they are not insulative and are not very fitting for outdoor purposes. I saw one of these Atom LT hoody's in my local outfitter and was instantly sold. The ultra soft inside liner material feels like absolute heaven on my skin. The Coreloft insulation is neither too thick or thin, its the perfect loft fill for brisk winter days and perfect for layering. I have to say, my two absolute favorite parts of this hoody are the hood and the elastic cuffs.
I know, you are saying "elastic cuffs?"; but let me assure you, I have never owned a jacket much less a hoody with elastic cuffs as comfortable, supple and well tailored as much as the Atom LT's. The hood is also a work of art, perfectly fitting. Nothing more to be said but AWESOME. Once again, Arc'Teryx has won me over.

I have owned this jacket for only two weeks and already I've gone backpacking (40 degree temps at night) in it, boating (in rain, HAIL and wind), hiking and worn it around town. It is perfect for so many different situations! It was pricey for me, but I haven't regretted it at all. It's so incredibly light and soft, yet it blocks wind, rain and hail. Seriously, water just rolls off it! I'm already planning on early and late season skiing in it- and I can't wait.

Probably the jacket I wear more than any other.
Versatility in a very compact, warm item.
This piece has a remarkable ability of maintaining my temperature at just the perfect level.
In winter, with temperatures as low as 0C, and in particular if I am involved in an active pursuit, I am always warm, yet the jacket breathes well enough for me to feel comfortable all day.
The fit is absolute perfection. Freedom of movement, as is the case with every Arc'teryx jackete I own, is absolute.
The little features that make so much of a difference, from the wonderful, free-flowing zipper, the one-handed hem adjusters, the drop-back hem to give that little extra protection. The incredible cuff design...never too tight, never too loose.
The lack of a toggle or adjusters for the hood is clearly a bone of contention for some on this site, and other users I have met.
Whilst I can understand that position, in the real world use, I can't see how a hood adjuster would ever be needed. It would simply add unnecessary weight.
In inclement conditions, the hood would be of little use to any prolonged period. It does have it's advantages, however. First of all, if the rain starts coming down, it gives a enough protection for you to have the time to throw on a hard shell. Also, when the weather is particularly adverse, and this piece is used as an insulating layer, the hood fits really well under the hood of my Alpha SV hard shell, giving that extra layer of warmth for the head.
This is exactly how I have used this piece, and in the practical use, I have never lamented the lack of an adjuster.
For me,, this piece with its wonderful fit, movement, stretch, Great breathability-aided in no small part to the feeds panels located on the side-this is close to perfect, and I would not be without it.

incredibly lightweight, thermally efficient, perfect fit, great price. this jacket has been my fall/winter/spring jacket on milder days and under a shell when it's really blasting outside. this jacket will keep you comfortable. not cold, not hot; comfortable. versatility is endless. i constantly get compliments and questions.
2 drawbacks: the main zipper, when zipped all the way up, randomly comes unzipped. i find myself pulling it back up every now and then. not a big deal.
and i find the fleece on the sides to be useless in the wind. without a shell, i feel the wind just pour through the fleece side panels. also, not a big deal since this is meant to be a layering piece anyway.
thanks again arcteryx for making ANOTHER quality piece that i cannot wait to put on again.

I used this jacket to hike the Inka Trail, since I didn't have too much space in my backpack I just bought it because of the light weight, it worked great ! very warm, almost weightless, takes no space and it looks great, tight to the body and very warm, I used it with a fleece and a t-shirt under. Love this jacket ! ! ! I even used it to sleep one cold night.
My only con will be that the hood can't be tight up but it wasn't a big deal.

After much um-ing and ah-ing and loads of questions I finally bought an Atom LT to take on a climbing trip to New Zealand and I must say I'm totally happy with my decision. First test for the jacket was on the Single Cone/Double Cone traverse, an alpine rock route above Queenstown. The sun was hot but the air at 2000m was cool and up on the ridgeline the wind was really fierce. The Atom performed really well, keeping me warm but not too warm when we stopped in shady sections, and performing surprisingly well as a wind-breaker despite the fleece panels.
However it was ice climbing on the Fox and Franz Josef glaciers where the Atom really excelled. It kept me warm while belaying or waiting, sometimes under a shell and sometimes on its own over a Phase AR top depending on the sun. While climbing it offered warmth and wind protection while not ever getting too hot and never being restrictive even when reaching high for the next placement on overhanging ice.
It's not the warmest jacket around, but then it's not meant to be. Any more insulation and it would have been too warm; any less and it would have been not warm enough. And the fleece panels rreally work to vent heat and moisture when you're working hard. The shell fabric is just perfect: light and plenty wind-resistant and surprisingly tough - I haven't put a dent in it yet. It's not a terribly water resistant fabric (and my DWR seems to have worn out already after only a few months - not sure if that's normal) but it doesn't really matter since the Coreloft insulation dries out so quickly. I recently got it soaked through while playing Ultimate in the rain and it dried out within half an hour - just in time for the next game.
For reference I am 6'4, 85 kg and the large fits me quite well - long enough in the arms and body but not too roomy around the torso. It's a slimmer fit than most of the Arc'teryx soft shells I've tried.

The atom LT what can i say...awesome jacket! Its funny how tiny this jacket packs up and how light it is yet still very effective as an insulation layer.Yet on the move is highly breathable thanks to the Polartec stretch panels. I use this jacket all the time whether it be on the skin track or the resort, running in cool temperatures and mountain biking [although i wouldn't want to crash with this on as the outer material is quite thin]. I'm 5ft 11 175lbs and the large fits me perfect. On really cold days i use the Atom LT [60g coreloft] and the Atom SV [100g Coreloft]. as my insulation. I can wear both Atoms under my Theta SV and be really warm even in the the worst conditions. I highly recommend buying both the LT and SV in the Atom series of jackets as it provide a complete quiver of insulated jackets for all sorts of different conditions. As usual, Arcteryx delivers with another exceptional product!

I got this jacket from a local outdoor store, and it's my favorite. I live in Northern California where it's usuallt in the 40s-50s, and frostbitten in the morning. I wear this jacket in the early mornings, at night, in light rain and it's perfect. I'm toasty and warm and windproof in conditions where I would usually have to layer up. I have it in Magenta and the color goes with a lot of what I own. And it's so light!! I stuff it into my purse and it barely weighs anything. One of the best, if not the best apparel purchases I've ever made.
