I've been wearing the Merrell Encore for over 10 years. Been through a couple of pairs. The structure is excellent and I'm not sure when it would wear out. The reason I replace is I get the suede very dirty after a while. Also, if the fur around the opening is white, you can only wear white socks with them. Otherwise, the sock fuzz and color will discolor the white, which makes them look very shabby. So, I'm about to order a pair of black Encores because it looks like the only one that I can wear a pair of socks that aren't white. You wonder if the company has a team that tries out these shoes before they finish a design with all that white fur? Otherwise, these are great shoes. I have a C width, high arch foot and the medium width works great for me and the arch support is excellent.

I love the shoes. I would have liked for them to have more arch support, so I added an insert. So far so good.

Really comfortable, good tread for slippery surfaces. Back of shoe breaks down a little easily. Very comfortable and warm!!!

I love the Merrell slip-on loafers, and deliberately buy one size larger than my normal shoe size so I can wear them with heavy wool socks in winter. I recently purchased the Black and Trooper colors in the Encore Ice 4 to replace my Primo Chill slides, which are getting quite worn after a decade of use. I agree with other reviews where the Trooper color is less vibrant than depicted on the web site, and the shoe squeaks when walking. I expected Trooper to be some sort of vibrant teal or turquoise, based on the web site, and it is definitely NOT. That being said, it is a very nice medium blue (with a slight greenish cast) that will look really good with my jeans. I don't know if anything can be done about the squeaking. Must have something to do with the color/composition of the sole, as my black ones have a darker sole, and they don't squeak.

Very comfortable, only complaint is that the insole in right shoe came loose almost immediately

Love Merrell's. They could use a little more support for my type of feet. I replace footbed with Orthotic device.

They run big so I returned for a half size down. I found returning them difficult. Website difficult to maneuver so I had to call

I've owned several pairs of this style over the years, and I still love this new styling but a few things have changed. Merrrell sizing on this is smaller. I normally take between 8 1/2 and a nine and I had to purchase an eight in this. Also, as others have said there is a tag that is sewn into the foot bed that you have to cut out if you plan to wear them without socks as I do. The back seems to slide off a bit when walking.

They run a little big. I ordered a 9.5 and I usually wear a 10.

I love these shoes. They fit perfectly. I wear a size 8 and ordered a size 8. They are warm, soft and comfy. I only gave them 4 stars because they squeak when I walk over hardwood, tile, or basically anything that's not carpet. A bit annoying but I'm getting use to it. If it wasn't for the noise, I would order another pair.

Super cozy and warm shoes, but sizing is WAY off. I have owned Merrells in 8.5 for years, and I had to order these in a 7.

So comfortable. Many compliments. Never want to take them off.

I would give a 5 if they offered more colors in wide! Wonderful shoe, very comfortable and safe on snow and ice!

These shoes are perfect for sitting all day teaching via zoom. They are comfortable and keep my feet warm. I would like more arch support, but am not standing on my feet all day like usual due to distance learning.
