I had a Phase AR zipneck base layer that I used for a variety of activities - XC skiing, ski touring base layer, and cold weather running top. Well, this base layer got thrashed, and as all the synthetics do, eventually smelled pretty bad. I bought this as a replacement and it is very similar - cut is not quite as trim but still trim enough and probably a bit more comfortable (I'm a lean guy). This is suitable for wet weather down to about 2 degrees on it's own when trail running, a bit colder if dry, and as a mid-weight base layer for colder activities.

Wish I'd ordered the grey one, too. Perfect weight to wear solo or over a lightweight tee.

Fits perfectly and breathes well. Good length and wide enough shoulders. Arms are long enough as well.

This is my go to for cold weather runs. I use it for everything from 20-50 degrees F. Both road and trail. It is good at what it does, and that is keeping you warm during high output activities. I wish they would make one of these for even colder conditions so I could use it to ski tour. 0-32 degrees F but it is a little light for that use. In general, I really wish Arc'teryx would make ski touring specific gear. As a base layer you can use it in a pinch but wouldn't recommend. I like this so much that I bought 3 of these for my winter month runs. I typically don't layer anything with this which is nice because it makes things simple.

Recently purchased, worn a couple of times both as a base layer and as top. Very comfortable fabric and fit.

I purchased the Motus AR Zip for running (pathway & trail running) and hiking. It's a perfect piece for me.
I run hot so I don't need a lot to keep warm;
- I can wear this top on it's own and it feels great against the skin.
- I wear it over merino wool or Cormac ss shirt
- on colder runs, I ad shell over top the three.
The Motus AR zip works perfectly to wick sweat, and is often dry at the end of an hours run.
I love it so much that I have two, hoping for a third shirt for Christmas... hint, hint, ;-)
Sizing-wise, I'm 5' 11" with a 47" chest, and slightly longer arms. I ordered the XL and it fits perfectly in the chest. A wee bit baggy in the waist due to my 35" waist.
Big fan of this piece, great colour options... happy customer.

I just got this a few weeks ago and it is just what I was looking for. Well made and very functional, part of layers on night calls that I wear for my volunteer fire department.

I bought this a few weeks ago. I'm 5'8 and weigh ~155lbs and went with a medium. The length is great and the sleeves are slightly long but not a deal breaker. I like it loose than snug. The Motus does a great job at regulating temperature if I'm working from inside at home I don't get too warm, when its time for an afternoon cool jog it keeps me warm enough.

The Motus wicks sweat so well that I actually wrote a bad review for my beta hybrid. My second layer was so wet and my Motus was fairly dry that I thought rain was getting through my Beta Hybrid. Today, I discovered my mistake because it wasn't raining on my 10 mile hike. My Atom Lt vest and the inside of my Atom Lt jacket were soaked and my Motus was mostly dry. The chest area was a little damp but not "wet". Definitely going to get another one or two of these base layers. Amazing.

Here is my experience, situation: run 16K/scheduled to run average about 5'/Km: I have been using the Motus AR in one of those chilly days, mid-season, when situation along the track is not always favourable. Thought to cross different areas, potential variation of temperatures based on different altitude, spot of sun/mix terrain, however no wind, possibly moderate, no rain. Then, I have decided to wear the new motus AR, as the base layer just that. Believe me, could not make a better choice. Got a great feeling since the start, always the impression to get my skin warm enough, but not too much. The motus managed to keep me always dry, I tell you until the end. I simply love the high neck as keep me protected from the light breeze. The zip is extremely well made both side. Amazing piece from Arc'teryx. Purchased the dark color, next will be the glade which looks fantastic. Thank you guys.

I wore this for about 3 months and the stitching started coming apart. I always washed the item at 30c and never used a tumble drier... a cheaper brand would last longer.
