I wear this vest with a lot of my outfits. Being in SF weather it's perfect for the chilly nights and mornings.

I love this vest and have been wearing it all the time. I like that it keeps my body warm, but my arms cool for the perfect body temperature that I prefer.

Being a lover of a vest/gillet I feel qualified to review this! It's warm, comfy and I really like the discreet placement of the Arc'teryx logo. For those in between winter and spring days the perfect accompaniment to a Proton or Atom for warmth.

So far, I really enjoy the plush, large baffles, the collar (super snug to the neck), and the thermal lined pockets (soft and cozy). The vest is a small, and on my 5'11" athletic-slim frame, its definitely has room for layers underneath it. It also easily fits under a shell, or my Thorenson. The bulge does appear in the lower torso when worn with layers and a belt.
My issues for how this could be a 5-star item are:
1) The ability to control the synching of the waist. I think most people would enjoy this feature, even for an urban piece. This piece has the ability to be slightly techy, but also urban. The elastic is fine, but is passive.
2) The outer face fabric. Arato 10 is mediocre in my opinion. Yes, its light, but it also forgoes the ability for the cerium lt/sv, as well as this piece to more dynamic. This is especially true at the section that comes into contact with the chin. Stubble and this fabric do not match. Why there isn't a small chin guard like the hard shells is beyond me. This would be simple and effective for longevity.
3) Fill. 750 is plenty warm. I guess this goes to the broader collection of Arcteryx jackets I have purchased and sold. I've had and sold the cerium lt and sv, while I've kept the thorium ar and the thorenson. I feel as if there is a compromise between the quality of the down fill in Arcteryx's jackets and the durability/dynamism of the jacket. I'd love to see something that has the 850 fill, but with a design and fabric that doesn't necessitate a shell at all times for wearing a backpack.

This is a replacement for a TNF Nuptse that my son has now claimed. I understand that this gilet is supposed to be slightly minimalist and lightweight, it isn't as rugged as the Nuptse though.
The website description states "Two-way separating front zip", this is incorrect as the item has only a normal single zip, a shame as a separating zip is a useful feature.
Despite the above it's generally a nice piece and the fit is fine.

I've been wearing the black small for a little while now since it came out, I'm liking it, but im not loving it, here is why.
Note: I don't intend to bring this vest into the mountains, i have other garments for that such as my cerium LT hoody. The most mountain it'll probably see is hanging out in whistler village. I am writing this review as a lifestyle piece for the city primarily. If you want to use this piece in the mountains, go for it. Technically speaking it's capable, just imagine it as a cerium SV vest, that is roomier.
I initially decided to get this piece due to its lack of branding which is a big plus in my book. I already have quite a few Arcteryx pieces with big logos on them, it's nice when they are more subdued. The level of branding on this piece is almost on Veilance levels, on my Black vest there is a small grey one on the left side, hard to notice. I much prefer this shift to Veilance subdued branding.
On sizing, I am 6ft tall 165-170 lbs. Tall and skinny; broad shoulders, tiny waist 29/30 in. for reference to other pieces I wear a medium in proton lt and most other mid layers, and a small in alpha sv and most other shells. I chose the small. It still feels a little big. I understand that it's regular fit, but I imagine most customers that shop arcteryx 24 Line are looking for more fitted rather than loose and baggy? The piece is also pretty long. Being 6ft tall it covers my belt completely and the back covers my bum just a bit. If you were quite a bit shorter it will likely be very long on you. If you like that styling then its no problem.
The way that the pockets are placed on the side it poofs up the belly region a little bit when your hands are in the pockets, making it look like you have a bit of a gut. I noticed this too when looking at the women's seyla jacket last year, same thing. However this design choice means that your hands will be warm when in the pocket. When its chilly you don't care if you look a tiny bit fat, you just want to be warm.
Love the zippers on the pocket, helps to secure belongings like chapstick or other bits and bobs you keep in there. Zippers are easy to use, never notice any snagging.
The high collar is nice in keeping the neck warm. It does a good job. I can imagine if you often have stubble it'll abrade the 10 denier nylon quite easily because the collar is so high. Do keep facial hair in mind.
Very lightweight, very comfortable.
I do not know what temperature this down vest would be ok for. I like wearing it for colder summer nights/days. It's nice being able to switch up wearing my atom lt with this vest, being able to keep my arms cool while still keeping my torso warm. When layered properly I am sure it will perform admirably in winter conditions.
Final Summary: Minimalist, stylish, veilancesque vest, that is long and slightly relaxed. Will be big on smaller folk even in the smallest size. plenty warm for shoulder season weather. if it were trimmer i would not hesitate to make this a 5 star review.
