I ordered the medium because i have other Carhartt outerwear where i felt like i could have used a little bit more room with the small, but i believe this coat runs true to size so i had to return because it was too large. I had to order a small from a different site since it wasn't available through zappos, the small had the extra room i wanted in a coat to wear a cozy sweater or sweatshirt under it. The coat is really good quality. A very heavy coat with a lot of awesome features, like a tab to hold onto at the bottom of the zipper and all of the pockets are zippered.

Runs very small for tall people! The color is beautiful, and I could tell the jacket is super warm, but the arms were way too snug if I moved at all or lifted them above my waist. I like to be able to wear a sweatshirt or sweater under my winter jackets, and I’d be unable to do this with this jacket. I don’t think sizing up to a larger size would help, the top of the jacket overall seems to run very narrow. I love the color, warmth and style, so I’ll be looking for the men’s version of this!
