The fit is very comfortable. I am 511 188lbs thin athletic build and size Large fits me well. Merino wool is nice and warm and not itchy thanks to the Lifa layer. The construction of the piece is well done; no loose threads or flaws. I use this to work the shipyards where weather can reach as low as 45F and Im completely warm, also because I have the merino wool leggings.

This is my first Helly Hansen, and I'm not disappointed. I've only worn it about 20-25 times. I own Merino Wool blend baselayers from several different brands, and this is one of the best, if not the best. I like 100% Merino baselayers, but, as you know, they tend to pill after awhile and are not as durable. The Helly blend is 57% wool and 43% synthetic, which is good enough to retain the wool qualities and durable enough to last many washings. I use this top for exercise, and it has the best qualities of wool - breathability and temperature regulation, without the odor retention. It's soft, although not as soft as 100% merino - which is to be expected for an active top. So far, so good!

Super cozy! Wore this to a Christmas Eve Night event at a ski mountain in Colorado and it kept me warm and comfortable. This piece isnt too snug either. It lets you breath while being form fitting.

The midweight design offers a good balance of insulation without feeling bulky. A reliable and high-performance base layer for any winter activity. Super comfy and has a good fit. One of the best base layers I have

Great base layer. I wear it under a lighter mid layer and my Helly Hansen Summit jacket. Kept me perfectly comfortable with temps in the lower 20s with wind. Love the 860 ALPINE FROS as well. Super soft. Highly recommend.

Good fitting L for my 42L torso and 35 arms. Comfortable enough but not as soft as merino, more tech feel.

I love these base layers. Bought 3 of them so one is always ready for a day on the sailboat or on the slopes!! (In So Cal we can do both in the same day) ;-)

Wonderful fit and feel. I hope it holds up when Im not the laundress, and the man who stuffs the washer to the brim, is.

Great quality, breathable, and with so much wool virtually odor resistant even after multiple wears, did I say toasty warm too. A great base layer for cool evenings on the boat or on the slopes or just lounging around the house.

I've been testing and wearing Merino layers for 15 years.
The LIFA Merino Midweight Crew might be as close to perfection as I've seen.
Soft, moisture-wicking merino blend that stretches, breathes and resists odor.
The true beauty comes in the combination of merino with LIFA Stay Warm technology.
This heavenly combination keeps you warm, dry, and comfortable whether you're sweating on the trail, sleeping in the tent, or earning your turns.
This has been our go-to layer at the Tahoe resorts and when combined with the Straightline LIFALOFT 2.0 Ski Jacket I'm not sure we've had more comfortable days on the mountain.
I'm 6'4" athletic build and the XL is a near perfect fit.

Despite it being -27F in upstate Vermont, midweight base layer, hoodie and H/H ski jacket had me going all day.

Perfect base layer for skiing. Pair it with a mid insulation layer for the colder days or I just wear it with a shell on the warmer days and it works amazing. I always wear a L and this L fits great.
