These shoes are awesome for long days in the mountains! SO comfortable, durable and trustworthy. I have brought them on steep, rocky terrain and high alpine 13,000+ runs with no concern over how I would fair! They are awesome and I would recommend them to anyone that wants a supportive and rugged shoe for any kind of trail! I definitely prefer these for longer runs, although they will succeed in any distance!

Omg I love these shoes. You don't even have to break them in. They are beautiful. As you can see in the photo, they have these new multi directional lugs to have a ton of traction in mud. They worked really well. I wore them a few days ago on a rainy muddy day and they were snappy and no slipping over rocks either. On this day, the trail was muddy in the beginning but at this lovely dry park view, they still did well. This toe box is also noticeably roooomier then the other cross-series models so I had a lot of space to wiggle my toes. The new DreamTex wings were a nice touch keeping my foot secure and even when I splashed through the mud, the mesh kept my feet dry. Anyway, I'm a fan! (The the color of them, cmon so pretty)

I brought these shoes out for my first mountain hike/jog while still recovering from a bad ankle sprain the week prior. Wow, did they feel great! They kept my foot stable on the technical trail and feeling confident on the loose downhills! This shoe will be a part of my regular Salomon shoe rotation for sure.

As a Bay Area runner, I wondered how these would fair on Tam's rocky/loose single track. Despite not having a rock plate, I was able to navigate well and didn't feel any sharp rocks. For rocky single track, sand, and mud these will be my ABSOLUTE GO-TOS! These have a slightly wider forefoot which makes for extra comfy descending aka no smashed toes. Note: Where traction and protection aren't as important (e.g. fire roads) I'll probably stick with the Sense Rides and/or Sense Pros!

I was really looking forward to trying these out, and wasn't dissapointed. I tested them out of the box on a long run on a trail with lots of loose baby rocks. I felt confident in my grip, and the deeper lugs helped me find traction despite the loose rocks. Decending I didn't feel any of the sharp rocks, I know I would've felt them poke through with other shoes. I'm looking forward to testing these out in the mud!

For years one of my favorite shoes has been the SpeedCross, but the WildCross has me changing my mind. The sizable lugs handle loose ground and mud without issue, while also gripping well on rocks and roots. The overall is fit is great, and there seems to be the perfect amount of room in the forefoot so my toes are happy. I am eager to get more miles in these shoes and keep testing them day in and day out. Bravo Salomon!

These are a great shoe for harder trails (read: anything but fire roads). I've hiked with them through sandy and muddy stuff and rocky climbs, and they did the job just right. Felt really stable and protected and they were comfortable out of the box. I also deeply appreciate the colors being dark instead of light and froufrou-y - makes me feel like an athlete, rather than a "female athlete"

This shoe is unlike any other shoe!! I have been wearing it on steep trails, rocky, aggressive terrain and they feel super connected to the ground. Lugs are quite hefty so make sure to use them to your advantage!!

My new fall trail shoe. Reminds me of the Fellraiser for those that are familiar. Not much cushioning to this but plenty of lightweight protection. Great for mixed trails as well as wet conditions. I was able to put them on right out of the box and run Skyline here in Ogden, Utah and they felt great.

I am a speedcross fan but had to replace them and didn't have my size so I thought I'd try these. Great shoe, great grip. Only thing I'm not a fan of is where the lace has to be pulled through the tongue. Also these are a little harder to slip on so I have to use a shoe horn. Besides those two factors the performance so far is great. More toe room then the speedcross so if you have a wider foot like myself you might want to consider these. I hike about 55-60 miles a week so I go through shoes pretty quick. Not sure how these will stand up to the miles. Last pair of speedcross lasted 4 months so hopefully these will last longer!

These are good shoes. I have an issue keeping them tight so my foot slides around a lot. The design of the laces coming out of the tongue makes it less convenient to lace. Otherwise these are great for traction and very comfortable. The other reviews about the toe box being protected are spot on! The toe box is also very roomy but snug enough so your foot is secure.

I didn't feel like there was much of a foot bed at all. I was looking for more cushion. Had to go back.

Bought this about a month and a half ago, got them just before a trip to Algonquin and jumped right into them with 30km. No need to break these in, very comfortable right off the hop. Grip is also great. Takes a little trial and error to get the quick laces just right. A few loose stitchings but otherwise quite durable as I've already put 100km on them.

This was the 7th pair of shoes I ordered. The fit is great, plenty of room in the toe box but nor sloppy in the heal. I hike many miles a week in Colorado on every imaginable surface. I really appreciate the large tread on these shoes. The only downside is they are hard! There is no cushion to them. I tried several insoles and found a memory foam that makes these shoes perfect!!

If you love the Speedcross but wish it was lighter, less of a drop, and had more toe box room with even MORE grip? The Wildcross is a Salomon genius child. While it is not the most cushioned shoe in the lineup (reason I gave it 4/5 stars) the ground feel and lower drop compensate for it, along with the wider toe box. I definitely feel secure in the shoe and confident in its grip. I also appreciate the toe box width as it is wider than most Salomon shoes I have in my lineup.

Though the material on the shoe (tongue) rubs from time to time, I am noticing it less. These shoes are able to cling well to rock while climbing and hold together well while glissading snow! I've ran everything from short to long runs, muddy, dry, side hilling, flat trails and sketchy ridge lines.

Awesome grippy, sticky shoe that is great for bombing downhills. I have a narrower foot than most so the wider midsection makes for a bit of a wiggle for me but will still use this for shorter days where I want to trust my shoe on the terrain.

The lugs on these handled so well in wet/mud, and the wide toe box gave me plenty of room to breath, yet held snug enough for a confident descent.

I read that the shoes were water resistant but my feet were soaked immediately after walking through wet grass that wasn’t particularly high. Don’t get them if you are needing any water resistance. Otherwise they are comfortable and true to size.

I received my Wildcross shoes sometime during the first week of December. I was so excited to receive them as I have had nine previous pairs of Salomons over the last three years. I LOVE that Salomon shoes are always ready to wear right out of the box with no break-in needed. I can wear them on the trail for many miles immediately without any discomfort! One pair were Fellraisers, all others were Speedcross of varying versions. I have always been exceptionallly pleased with the Salomon shoes ~ So much so that I have converted nine friends to Salomon! This pair of Wildcross have left me sad and disappointed that I spent the money on them. I was excited about the look and styling appearance of them, but the fit is FAR from the normal fit that I have always found in Salomon. The shoe fits sloppy and feels large and clunky while being the exact same size as every other pair I have owned. I have worn them about eight times, but every time I head out for a hike, I cannot bring myself to put them on because they are just not a comfortable fit and because of the styling, there is no way to tighten the large sloppy toe box area. I love Salomon and will continue to purchase the products, but this particular item is a definite no.

I bought these specifically for the Mount Marathon race m, which is straight up and down with lots of scree and gnar. I love the Salomon has shoes that provide the traction I need for the mud and scree but this shoe hurt my foot so bad after the three times I wore them!! My right sole is definitely feeling a deep bruise and the top of my foot also feels bruised! I've never experienced anything like it before. I want to keep them because they have the tread and the toe box width that I really love but ouch, they hurt like heck!! So sad. The Speed cross would be my next selection but I know that the toe is too narrow and I don't feel connected to the ground. Please bring back this rad looking shoe with a little more comfort.

I've been using these for around 4 months and really struggling to get on with them. I absolutely love my supercross and I love my sportcross but cant seem to get on with these at all. Ive found them really uncomfortable, they dig into my ankle and have caused blisters so had to put in an extra insole to raise my foot height, and I find the soul really painful on longer trail walks. They also feel really clumpy like I'm running in clown shoes. On the positive side they're VERY waterproof and one of the grippiest trail shoes I've ever had so it's not all bad. Might just be my foot shape but they don't work for me at all so I'm back to my old (and very worn) supercross until I find an alternative
