I have been both an overpronator and a long distance runner / speed walker for years (6-10 miles per day). It's always been tough to find a good shoe. For years I wore custom orthotics in my motion control running shoes. Then, I found Asics. I wore the Gel Foundation for many years, and was able to finally give up the custom orthotics. Yes, the shoes were that good. When the Gel Foundation was discontinued, I was terribly disappointed but moved to the GT-4000. Unbelievably (to me), the GT-4000 is even better. I love this shoe, and am still not using custom orthotics. These shoes provide great support, comfort, and fit, and can really go the distance! [Please, Asics, don't discontinue this shoe!]

Very comfortable and great support for a severe overpronator. I just wish there were more color choices for this style

It's hard for me to find shoes that fit and have enough arch support. My heel is narrow, but I need a wide toe box. These have the perfect amount of arch support and fit well. In fact, I'm ordering a second pair because the styles change every year and you never know how they will work out.

Comfortable and supportive. I have flat feet and these feel great. Wearing it for work (walk a lot) but also will get for running too.

Love these sneakers. Didn't need to break them in at all - they fit perfectly right away. I recommend them to everyone!

These run a little long but have good width for me with my wide foot. I liked the room in the toe box but had too much room so I will try a 7 vs a 7.5. Very comfortable otherwise. Wish they had more colors.

So far I had the 1000, 2000, 3000....by far the gt 4000 is the cloud for my plantar fasciitis and over pronation. I would say don't be cheap when it comes to your feet. These gt 4000 shoes are absolutely worth it

Asics are my go to shoe, and so far only 1 if 2 brands I can wear to relieve my heel pain (probably plantar fasciitis). This time around though, these are too tight. In the store my foot measures as a standard width but these squeeze my feet on the top when properly laced. To tie them comfortably, I have to leave 3 finger widths between the eyelets. This means that I need a wide, but they are not available. I'm torn about these shoes. On one hand I love the way my feet feel in them; no heel pain, but on the other hand I need to over loosen the laces to make the width comfortable. Heel pain relief over shoe tightness? Still debating.

I bought these because I have a wide foot. Usually Asics are my go to for running shoes but I couldn’t find any to fit. I had to go for New Balance instead. Could you please make a wide shoe? This seemed narrow in the heel esp. Maybe a bit narrow in the toe box as well. Thank you !

I normally wear a medium width but went for wide due to toe issues. This style definitely runs narrow as others mentioned! I compared this style with other ASICS I own. The sole itself is wider but the body of the shoe was the same as my mediums.

I bought these for long hours at work on my feet (physical therapist at a hospital.) However, they're much better for actually running. They hurt a little bit, I had to loosen the shoestrings a lot. But I really mean it, they make running not so hard. I'm not the most dedicated runner but they're making me hate it less.

Very narrow for a Wide shoe! Toes hurt halfway thru a one hour walk. I order WIDE because I have a wide foot so it is important that they are true to size in width.

The verdict is still out. I took these with me on vacation and have been breaking them in. I got them because they address severe overpronation. However, my feet really hurt after a couple miles of walking. I had hoped this pair would offer more support so that I wasn't so sore after walking.

I am now used to buying Asics a full size larger than I normally wear in other brands. I am normally an 8 medium. With Asics I am a 9 wide in the GT 4000 2. I have to have a thinner sock as they are too narrow (in wide!) I have a very narrow foot. However, the heels have lots of cushioning and have decided to keep GT 4000 2 wide. Like the other Asics I have purchased, if your big toe tends to arc up, then you risk a hole in the fabric in the toe box. That is a real design flaw. I tend to put duck tape inside the toe box as a buffer for the big toe problem. Seems a lot of trouble for a shoe at this price. More color options would be nice.

These shoes are ok not the best in comfort at first. I have severe pronation and I thought these would be great unfortunately I can only wear them a short time. And they were supposedly wide with but no way they are. I love the colors though.

I always wore a size 11 narrow A, but a few years ago, I graduated to a size medium. Many are much too wide but I was hopeful that these would be that happy solution as many reviews cautioned that they were too narrow for a medium size. Well, they were right! Very, very narrow and much too “pointy” for an athletic shoe. Only wore them around my house and, at that, they were very painful to wear.

Felt at least a half size too small, compared to the Hoka and Brooks models I tried. I may have considered going up a half size, but the toe box was so narrow and pointed that I wouldn't have kept them anyway. Also felt there was not enough arch for me.

I ordered these after the 9 in another ASICS styke, GEL Nimbus, ran too small for me and the 9.5 wasn't available in the color I wanted. So I ordered a 9.5 in this. Holy Batman was this toe box narrow! After two tries with ASICS I have decided their shoes don't work for me and switched to Brooks Ghost 14 which fit me great. I have never in my life had to order a wide shoe so if your sizing is that off that I have to keep trying to different sizes widths and styles, I have to find a brand that is more consistent. Styling is very nice though.

Shoes had good padding, but despite being sized wide, were just too narrow for my wide foot.

I've been wearing Asics for over 10 years (Gel-Foundation, unfortunately has been discontinued). I called Asics and was told the GT-4000 2 was the replacement, so I ordered it. It's way too tight/narrow. I'm returning them immediately.

I've never had a pair of Asics come to me way too narrow. They are also very low on the heel. Not a good fit at all.
