There is waaay too much difference between a medium and a large — three inches around. The shorts are nice, though thinner and stiffer than previous Mountain Hardwear shorts. I would have kept if there had been a size that fit. They were either too tight or swimming.

I am very happy with these shorts. They are very comfortable with a wide, soft waistband and are the perfect length for me. They allow for movement and are not at all restrictive. The pockets are deep enough to fit my phone without being so long that the phone drops out below the pantleg. I just wore them for a hike down to the Colorado and back at the Grand Canyon and they severed me well. I would have found a drawstring helpful, though, as they became loose after many miles. But that is a minor note and during regular use and less intense hikes, they fit like a glove. For reference, I ordered a medium and as a size 6/8, 5'6",140 lbs, athletic build.

It's hard to find a good Bermuda short, but these provide effective coverage for hiking. The material stretches nicely with movement, and the shorts are simply comfortable.

I am 5'4. Weight 160. I ordered a large and it fits perfect. No pocket gap. I had seen a friend wear these and I asked her what brand. They look upscale , the pockets, the stitching, the fabric is light and cool. The short is the perfect length for this 70 year old grandma. I just bought a second pair for me and a another for a gift!

Durable fabric, stretchy, comfortable. I wear hiking everyday in the warm weather. Wish there were more fun colors to choose from, not just neutral earthy colors

The fit is perfect. For reference I’m 5’6”, 129lbs., and the medium was just right. The material has a little stretch but not too much. The pockets are spot on. I own two colors and would purchase more in the future if needed. Definitely a five star product.

My favorite shorts by far. They are extremely comfortable, nice fabric, with pockets including a secret zipper pocket. They sre lightweight and easy to pack. They are My go to shorts, and I now have 4 pair.

These shorts are perfect for any outdoor activity; from hiking to wearing over-biking shorts. The fabric is extremely light and easy to move in. The side pockets are nice and one zip pocket is ideal for holding small items.

Absolutely love these shorts. I have been looking for a pair to replace the Mountain Hardware black shorts I've been wearing for ten years! Lots of pockets, just enough stretch and so comfy. They fit perfectly - size M, I am 5'7 and weigh 145.

The fabric is lightweight, non-binding, non-friction, easy to wash and dry, and very comfortable.

Love these shorts so much! I believe I now have one in every color - and 2 in the tan color. I'm a petite size (4'11" and 95 lbs) and they fit me perfectly.

I love these! First time wore them for a 22 mile hot hike and no chafing, sweat was quick drying, and the pull on waist band was so comfortable (I wore a 28L capacity very heavy backpack for the hike). I'm 5'1" and these shorts went just a bit above my knee. Only change I would make is for longer front pockets to be able to fully fit my phone in it without worry of it falling out.

I love these shorts! They pull on easy and stay up without the hassle of buttons, snaps or belts. I use them for all outdoor activities including strenuous hiking. They have held up perfectly without the slightest appearance of wear. I have three pairs now and cycle through the different colors. The fabric is light, stretchy and very durable. They feel absolutely great against the skin without binding anywhere. Highly recommended!

The best shorts for hiking and other activities I have found! The stretchy fabric and pull-on style are so comfortable. They are also the perfect length and have lots of great pockets. I have a thick waist, slim hips, and flat butt, so finding pants or shorts that fit me in a flattering way is really, really tough. These do the trick.

Super comfortable and lightweight. Love the pockets. I'm 5'4" 135lbs and ordered a Medium. They are pretty roomy but that's how I like them. I probably could've sized down to a small for a closer fit.
