Bought this for a trip to Big Bear and it was super warm. It is a bit large for my size so there's plenty of rooms to layer. There are big pockets to store gloves and other things without having to unzip the jacket. Overall it is simple, stylish and did a great job keeping me warm.

I love this coat! It's great for the cold Chicago weather. I always stay warm with it on. It's stylish and well constructed. I would definitely purchase it again.

Great jacket and great fit. Good for cold weather and general wear. Wouldn't necessarily recommend for winter activities such as skiing though.

This is a great casual coat for wintertime. I normally wear a L but heard this ran big. I am 6'1, 180lbs and this coat fits great in M.

Very warm even for the weathers of upstate New York. Little bit baggy, but very practical. It is really waterproof, windproof and can be used in snow. Really recommend to buy this Jacket!

Highly recommend this coat

I purchased the coat as a gift for my son. He wore the coat for one month when he noticed the zipper not zipping up as its supposed to. Long story short, North Face Customer service promptly handled my request for a new replacement jacket. I was notified a few days after my initial correspondence to learn the coat was sold out, so I was issued a full refund to my credit card. The return was easy to do since I already had an account set up with North Face. I simply logged into my account and selected 'Return Merchandise' to print off the Return Authorization Form and Fed Ex Shipping Label. The McMurdo is a throwback classic to the 80's of which I grew up in..so to have a well constructed newly innovative up to date jacket to wear is simply history repeating itself..."

Very warm even in -35 degrees with a sweatshirt underneath. Fit is good. I am 5-10 but very broad shouldered. The xxl fits right. Goes to mid-thigh. A lot of pocket space. The wind does not get through.

This is a rock solid winter coat. I can usually get by with just wearing a T-shirt under it even in the coldest of weather. You should get it a size down as others have mentioned.

I use this jacket when it gets below around 25 degrees, otherwise it gets to hot in it. Even tho it's so stylish I wanna still wear it anyways! it's also very easy to wear while driving.

Husband loves this jacket. He's had 2 winters in the midwest without a heavy-duty winter coat, and this parka brings him so much joy. He's so much less miserable in this sometimes-sub-zero weather. Would recommend!
