great coat, pleasantly surprised with the quality, comfort, and fit

I live in Mendoza, Argentina. The winter season here is really hard if you are climbing mountains or even spending a few hours outside and with this jaquet I don't care about it. I don't like the velcro in the cuff, but it's something personal.

I use this as my main winter jacket. In Minnesota the winters can get bitter, and this jacket keeps me warm. I love the length. As a 6'3 male, it is hard to find a jacket that goes to the hips.

Cold weather protection in the winter used to stay warm.

Was looking for a long jacket that would keep me warm during the cold weather while standing still at long periods of time. I have purchased north face jackets before with the purpose of constant movement, and have been satisfied with all purchases. My current job requires me to stand stationary for long periods of time and I was needing a good heavy coat for the wind and cold weather. I was researching for a long while and finally purchased this coat, I am beyond satisfied with the quality and utility of the coat. Best purchase that I know will last me for many years to come. Enjoy the front 4 pockets which can hold quite a few items. The amount of DOWN that is in the coat is plenty to keep warm. At 30 - 40 degrees, I was hot in the coat with just a shirt and tie.

Bought one for my husband and obe for my son. Actually, this is the second one for my son, as he is growing out of the first obe I bought about 2 years ago. It keeps them warm on very cold days. Their only complaint is that they wish it was a little longer and that it would be nice if they could tie the hood to make it fit more snugly on really cold days.

I bought this coat for my husband for the winter and it was perfect. We live in the northeast and get a lot of snow and low, low temperatures. My husband often wears short-sleeved collar shirts or t-shirts and therefore needed a good jacket to keep warm. This jacket negated any need for sweaters, etc. My brother-in-law and my father also ended up getting the same jacket in their sizes and love it too. Definitely recommend!

This is indeed a cool jacket! When I bought it there was no more small size ones so I reluctantly bought a medium size. It turns out to be too big (for I know I can only wear the a size, but just for the sake of the jacket I still bought a size m) but other than that, it's perfect.

I originally went to the store located in Georgetown (DC) to find this coat. They only had the coat in a large. I'm 6'2 190 lbs so the large fit perfectly. Unfortunately the sleeves were too short :-(. The sales associate there was really helpful, but unfortunately they didn't have this coat in any over sizes. I was able to find the size right size on line. The coat was delivered about a week later and it fits great. The sales associate was right! This is the warmest coat!!! It's only been cold enough for me to wear it one day since I received it, but I'm definitely prepared for next winter.

My Husband tried this on in the store and fell in love with it. So I bought it online for him. So thick and warm, and he loved how it looks "like an adult jacket" since he is used to wearing styles that look more early 20's demographic. He says it's super warm (we're in MA) and can't wait to wear it for future winters. Price is great, he had been looking at some Canada Goose for $800 and this is perfect for our $200 price range (got it on sale).

Replaced a Columbia. Love this coat!!

The jacket is very stylish and warm. I have the Gray Heather color and there's a nice herringbone pattern to the material that belies its functionality. I'm 6'3", 180 lbs and the medium fits great - long enough in the arms and waist. I wore it extensively during a weekend of <0 degrees F and was never cold. In fact, I almost felt too warm with a sweater underneath. Lots of pockets for storage.

Great coat ... hard to find a parka with detachable hood. Easily worn with sweater and good pocket storage. Hand warner pockets positioned comfortably and waist and bottom draw strings work well. Built in neck gator a cool idea for hood.

This coat is a fantastic winter coat. It protects expertly against cold weather conditions in the northeast, and negates much of the cold wind effect as well.

Very heavy but it's INCREDIBLY warm. This is by far the warmest coat I have ever had and it was worth every penny.

I bought this for my husband, but the jacket didn't work out for him, since he's 6'9", and TNF do not carry tall sizes. We went to return the jacket, but ended up exchanging it for a women version. :). I love it! And I truly hope TNF will be doing tall sizes soon, as I'd love my husband to experience the great TNF

I had been waiting awhile for a good, take everything winter can dish out kinda jacket and this one doesn't disappoint. It's so tough it's like a an heirloom to be passed down.
