I live in Anchorage, Alaska and this is the warmest coat I have. I can go outside for any length of time and stay super warm and dry. Whether the wind is blowing or the air is frigid I don't have to worry about not being warm enough. It looks great and I get compliments daily.

This was a gift for my boyfriend who lives in Chicago. He needs a comfty and warm jacket for the winter months. He told me how warm it was the minute he wore it! It is long, which is nice, and it is super windproof. I highly recomment it!

I mainly use this coat during the cold months. Perfect for going outside to play with this kids and also it's stylish enough to wear when my lady and I are going out on dates.

If you live in a cold weather city it is a must have. Before any overprised Canada Goose, this jacket is the best option for both daily use or any outdoor experience.

This jacket has everything you need. Unaware to me which was a great surprise is the fleece face protector included in the hood that tucks away when not needed. This is the best jacket I have ever worn.

This is a wonderful jacket. I live in NYC and it keeps me warm with minimal layers underneath, is extremely well-made. My only complaint is that the zipper is a little small for such a large jacket -- but that's such a minimal issue for a coat as near-perfection as this.

I am not originally from New England, and I never owned a true winter coat. When living in colder places I've always made due by layering everything I owned. But winter here was the final straw and I had to finally bite the bullet. This has not disappointed. Temperatures have dropped to around zero so far this winter, and I haven't felt a thing through the coat (with only a light shirt underneath). The insulation has been like nothing else I've owned, and the built-in balaclava helps keep everything covered when the wind picks up. I can't speak to how it performs compared to other brands, but being half the cost of a certain Canadian company I haven't had any complaints. I will say that the coat is not exactly slimming. It is a big, puffy jacket that definitely looks just as bulky as any picture you've seen. That said, it doesn't bulge around the pockets like some other jackets, and of all the insulated coats I tried this is the most professional looking (it looks fine wearing over a suit when heading to the office). As for sizing, I'm 6'3" and about 175 lbs, and the medium fits me perfectly. I will say that the sleeves go to my wrists exactly (not short, but definitely no farther than the joint). For full coverage, I'd recommend getting gloves that cover your wrist and fit back into the sleeve.

The other reviews seem to say it all (except for a few things listed below). It's EXTREMELY warm. Best used for below freezing situations, however, I've been using it unzipped in above freezing simply because it's so warm, lite, and comfortable and I've found the temperature about right. Here are a few things that I think other reviews /breakdowns have not mentioned: -I'm 5'9" 168lbs and the S fits me really well. -The sleeves don't have ribbed cuffs (I believe the 1st gen. MacMerdo did), but I've found this to not be a problem at all. All wind stays out with the velcro straps at the wrists. -There is a pull string to cinch the waist in. The pull tabs are located in the upper two outer chest pockets. -The fur trim is not held back by anything I wish there was a something to keep it folded back. -The hood has a pull string located at the back. It works OK overall. -The microfiber around the colour is SUPER soft and comfortable.

Product was great but they run a size too large. I am 6"1/190lbs and typically get large coats. I was practically swimming in the large but the medium fit perfectly!! Best bang for your buck out there.. You can get three of these coats for the cost of one Canada Goose coat!

Feels like a warm blanket on the body. Although its long and big, I got used to it quickly. Its 30 degrees out now and I'm wearing nothing but a t shirt underneath and I'm warm. The hem and waist drawstrings were the selling point for me, as I can make it contour my body to prevent baginess and cold wind ventilation. Only thing I would like is more pockets perhaps on the inside as I've seen on utube on some European models of this same jacket. Some of the pockets here are kinda small too, not sure why, like the inside pocket and chest pockets where my hands hardly fit. But its ok. I like this jacket and will keep it.

everything is great about this jacket except for two things, the zipper is way too small and the fit is a tad bit big. the medium was slightly big and the small was a little snug. over all this is a great winter jacket

Primary reason for buying is to have a warm coat for walking to class in the cold Michigan winters. University of Michigan is in a cold spot in the state and walking to class can be brutal sometimes.
