My foot is a 2A with 3A or 4A heel. No amount of cinching the laces will keep medium athletic shoes from slipping on my heel. When it came time to replace my very old New Balance running shoes, which I wear for walking, I tried every brand that comes in narrow except Brooks (bc they weren't on sale, LOL), and all were too wide in the heel. Even a couple of styles of New Balance, which I guess has made their narrow running shoes wider now. I finally ordered this shoe and the Brooks Glycerin 18, and they both fit beautifully. This shoe is a little roomier in the forefoot than the Glycerin 18, but not too loose. I like the color (black w/ pale lavendar & striped laces) a lot better than the Glycerin 18 (charcoal with blue trim), as it looks more updated. I got a 10N in both styles and they fit perfectly and are equally comfortable. Even though I paid more than I wanted to, I am extremely happy with the shoes. For context: I normally wear a 9N in Clarks and Naturalizer, a 9.5N in Lifestride and VanEli, a 9.5N or 10N in Lifestride, and I can't wear Bella Vita, Easy Street, Softspots or Softwalk at all because their narrow shoes are too wide. (I don't like Monroes or SAS!)

I formerly reliably wore a pair of Mizuno Women's Wave Rider 22 Knit Running Shoes. I wore them for all my road runs for about 2 years (really too long, but I loved them). I was really apprehensive about the changes to newer wave riders, so I started looking at other brands. To me, the Brooks Ghost 13 was as close as I could get - and so far I'm not disappointed. They are great for my neutral stride and offer just enough cushion without being distracting. I'd highly recommend them as a road/pavement running shoe.

I've been wearing Ghosts for about 4 years now. These are the first pair that didn't hit the mark. They are too wide and the soft knit upper is too soft and flexible to provide support. I had to keep them because I wore them, and they are an expensive mistake. Next time I will make sure that the upper mesh is firmer than a knit. Or next time, I won't order shoes, but rather go to a store and try them on. That is the preferred option after this expensive mistake.

I really wanted to love these shoes. I fell head over heels with the Brooks Ghost 12's a year or so ago. They were hands down the best running shoe I've ever worn. The fit (I wear a size 8.5) was perfect. More than anything, the support of the 12's was an excellent mix of firmness and flexibility. I have osteoarthritis in my left toe. The 12's were the only shoes that didn't irritate it. So I bought the 13's hoping that Brooks didn't mess with a great thing. But the support of the 13's is not the same. They are lighter and too flexible for me. Probably great for fast runners without foot injuries! So I had to return them. Zappos' customer service was absolutely amazing because they were lightly used. I walked in them 3 times. Hope this is helpful.

These shoes are light and provide great support.

My favorite running shoe. I had been struggling with some achilles issues and plantar fasciitis and this shoe really helped me get back to running without pain. It's cushiony without being too much. I loved it so much that I bought 2 pairs to alternate between. Great for walking too. Cute color options.

Love these shoes. Comfortable for walking miles at a time without foot pain. Good fit (Zappos recommended 11.5 & it fits great), also pretty colors (got the blue/hot pink/gray).
