I'm a big Brooks fan, and I liked the Brooks Revel 3s, but the Revel 4 is clearly not meant to be a running shoe. In fact, when I went to my local running shop and mentioned my difficulty with the Revel 4s, she noted that they were meant to be a lifestyle shoe rather than a running shoe. Thankfully, Zappos took my return, even though I had already run in the Revel 4s. But I did want to leave a review to help anyone else searching for a good running shoe. If you intend to use these for running and not everyday errand-running, try a different shoe. (The Brooks Launch 8s are great.) For reference, I run about 3 times a week, 6 miles per run. When I ran in the Brooks Revel 4s, my feet were throbbing. They felt too narrow/tight and didn't give appropriate support.

These were to replace a Brooks Revel I purchased 4-5 yrs ago. Much the same, but might not be a durable as the old ones. Fit is good. But one of the inserts was missing, in the right shoe. Too bad. I would have kept them, but I think I'll wait to repurchase. Zappo's service is great.

Normally I wear the Ghost model, but decided to give this one a try. After wearing these shoes and doing my normal walking, I noticed my feet hurt more than usual. Then my ankle started hurting. Long story short, it is only when I wear these shoes that my feet and ankle hurt and I feel like the base of the shoe could be a bit wider for stability. And it is not because they are new shoes. I have been wearing them for a few months now. Now I am stuck with these expensive shoes. Moral of the story, if something works for you, don't change it. I'm going back to the Ghost.

These shoes are comfortable and lightweight, but not so lightweight that you feel unsupported. I wear them with a custom orthotic that is more solid than a retail orthotic, and it works well. I have a small-medium bunion, and the regular width works well for me, probably because of the flexible shoe material. Very pleased with how they work for walking and jogging.

Comfy shoe, just a tad bit short in length. good room in the toe box, opted for a half size up and they are good.
