I thought that the Levitate 4 would work well for me. I tried it on and walked around in it for a day. I found that the shoe was very uncomfortable in that it was too narrow in both the middle and toebox of the shoe and I have a fairly narrow foot. It was hard to both put on and to take off. I could not recommend this model. I have already delivered it to FedEx for a return and I ordered a pair of Ghost 13 shoes since I previously purchased a pair. I receive the Ghost 13 shoes on Friday and I wore them over the weekend. They are very comfortable and I am glad that I purchased them and I would recommend them to a friend.

My first time and they seemed to aggravate my plantar fasciitis. Within 1 week I could barely walk on the right foot. Must be a fluke since the left shoe fit perfectly. Al I know is it hurt too much to keep them.

I have owned the levitate 2 and 3's. I wore a 10 in both pairs. I bought a 10 in the 4s and it was very small. I then tried an 11 and it was way to large. 10.5 might have been a better fit but I doubt it with the drastic size. It was taking 5 days to get a pair of shoes. I ended up having 2 credits I am waiting on also. The reason I was getting the 4's was my favorite pair of the 2's cracked where the flex in on the palm of the foot. I needed another pair of shoes so I bought On Clouds.

I went from Levitate 2 to Levitate 4 and was so bummed. I wore a 12.5 in Levitate 2 and had to fit into a 13.5 in Levitate 4. The width felt narrower, specifically in the toe region. I love the new design options, but the awkward sizing along with the tongue redesign is a huge let down for this shoe. The 2 felt perfect, the 4 feels like a failure under the Levitate name.

Too stiff and not enough padding for a daily trainer based on my preference for the Levitate 3 design. The seam under the toe box on the soul is causing blisters. I've had the Levitate 2 and 3 and liked them a lot. I am a loyal Brooks runner but find your annual shoe updates often don't result in improvements. (I often remark, why did they update a shoe that was working great for me. I out in the Mike's and will buy new pairs. No need for a major update to get me to purchase new.) I went out and found 3-pairs of last year's Levitate 3 as I am not happy with the 4. I will probably pass the 4 on to my son and see if he can use them.

Inhave owned several pair of Levitate and has always fit perfect. But I can't say the same with L4. L4 much kore narrow and not the same feel.
WHY change a design that has worked without appropriate customer input

I love Brooks shoes but absolutely hate the Levitate. They are very stiff and hard. I suppose that means responsive in shoe parlance but it feels like one is running on boards. They also wore out very fast. The sole is not durable. I do like the comfort of the upper, but would not buy these shoes again.

Shoes are very tight at the toe and the upper side of the feet around lacing. Its not really comfortable to wear for longer periods.

Something was changed in the front toe box and the stitching at the base of the laces. They fit completely different , way way smaller.

I purchased version 3 and love them. Version 4 have caused blisters and open wounds on my heels. Can't quite figure why the difference between the two shoes. Never expected a problem and discarded original packaging. Cut part of the shoe heel out to alleviate the area that is digging into my foot. Try them, but don't expect Version 4 to be the same as previous versions. Save the packaging in order to return the item if needed. I buy Brooks almost exclusively and this is the first pair that has ever caused me problems. May go back to the Glycerin model of shoe.
I'd also recommend:

Had the Levitate 2's and loved them. The new design looked great, so I was excited for the upgrade, but have since been disappointed. The semi-integrated tongue means that you can't loosen the shoe to fit your foot, which is bad because I hey are way too tight around the top/bridge. It feels like someone is squeezing my foot while I run. I was hoping it would loosen up after a run, but it didn't. Woke up the next day feeling like I had a broken foot.

I've had a pair of Brooks Levitate for the last 2-3 years and they've been very good shoes: comfortable, good cushion, enough support but not stiff.
I purchased the newest version of Brooks Levitate (2020) and I could hardly get my feet inside them because the tongue of the shoe is attached to the shoe from the toe to about halfway up the shoe. This design might be the trend but the shoes were very tight, uncomfortable and I returned them.
