These shoes are not as wide as other makes
but overall they seem to be well made.

I purchased these in order to accommodate my custom orthotics.
They work ok merely as walking shoes.
I used them to also run in
Now I have black toe nails as I believe these run a bit on the short side
Also very stiff in the midsole
Sadly, after only a few weeks of use
These will just collect dust in my closet
Too bad, was hoping for a better outcome

The inside back of heel material tears up way to early!

Still too narrow for a wide width. Bunion was poking out. Had to return it. Will order extra wide. Cushioning is great. Looks nice.

Great shoes, but they don't last well - heel wear is significant after only a few weeks. Probably my 5th pair in ~2 years, but they are the most comfortable run I've had.

I wear orthotics and the Saucony Echelon have worked well for me. When the version 8 was released I was really disappointed to see that black and gray are the only color choices.

Your shoe fits orthopedic inserts nicely. Toe room is good. Support is great. Customer service is outstanding.

In less than two months the fabric behind the heels in both shoes began to fray and tear. I am now using duct tape and glue to hold the stuffing in. The rest of the show has performed well during my daily 5-6 mile jaunt.

I'm on my third pair of echelons. Very comfortable shoes and supports me well. I have had the same problem with each pair. At less than a year old the inside heal material rips and the foam stuffing begins to come out. For the price of these shoes one would expect them to be better built to be for durable.

Very heavy and clunky shoe. Inside is ripping out where the heel rubs during jogging. Sticking with New balance.

The shoe was very tight fitting at the top of my foot. I had to loosen the laces. This is a problem because the laces are very short. I like to double tie if jogging but this is impossible with the meager length lace. This is very poor planning by Saucony and Zappos should alert them of the defect.

As some others have pointed out, the extra wide is no longer extra wide - the toebox is much narrower than the Echelon 7. Also, the heel is a little more rounded, curving into your heel. Hopefully they listen to the customers and make the Echelon 9 when it comes out more like the Echelon 7. I bought a shoe widener so hopefully I can squeeze a little more room out of them, I thought they would stretch more after two months.

Fits too narrow for a wide. I've been wearing Saucony for over 20 years & this is the first time I've had a problem with sizing. Very disappointed.

I would have ranked 7 as the most comfortable shoe I have ever had. I rank these 8 as the most uncomfortable. Why? The mid foot has been redesigned to be firmerthis is unbearably painful for my flat feet. The heel and forefoot are more cushioned, which means I sink into the firm mid foot which makes me screech in pain. I had travelled a considerable distance to get these 2 paid so I am now out close to three hundred dollars. I do not recommend these for wide flat feet.

These are going back! They are like a rock on your foot. Heavy and clunky. Ugly colors, too. You have to be needing a serious orthotic to like these.
