I highly recommend these boots. I've owned a pair of the Keen Presidio for ages, and like the wide toe box and quality of workmanship; which is why I ordered the Keen Steens Mid Polar - I was looking for a sturdy, supportive, waterproof and breathable ankle boot, with a non-slip sole for winter walks on paved trails. These boots fit right out of the box, with no break-in time; at this point in my life, I no longer am willing to 'break in' footwear. If they do not fit right out of the box, forget it, back they go. These boots have a wide toe box and plenty of room to accommodate thicker socks. I wear a 7.5 M in street shoe, and prefer a size 8 for boots. This pair, a size 8, fit very well. The back/heel area of the boot is also roomy, and though I would have liked it to be a tiny bit narrower, it did not pose a problem when I wore them to walk 2 miles on a paved trail two days ago. The boots provided excellent support and my feet remained dry (not sweaty). Based on my high satisfaction with this pair, and my old Presidios, I will continue to consider and purchase Keen footwear.

I have wide, flat feet and so I have tried on countless pairs of hiking boots, but I always send them back. Too narrow. Too high of an arch. Too low of an arch. We'd planned to hike part of the Appalachian Trail in Vermont this past summer and I knew I needed ankle support - it was time to get serious about finding a pair that fit. I tried on about 10 pairs and as soon as I put these on, I knew they would be amazing! I wore them to hike right out of the box with wool socks on a 1,000 ft. elevation climb. The next day, I wore them to walk up and down large hills, and then wore them to go shopping in the local town. I've worn them consistently since - now I wear them to walk in slushy snow. They keep my feet both warm and dry - better than my winter boots! Once of the best pairs of boots I've ever purchased, without a doubt.

I got these as winter boots. So far fit well and comfortable, but I did size up a half size. Haven't tried in snow or on long hike yet, but that's my hope. Important to me is that Its one of the few recent pairs of Keens I've tried that has a neutral footbed. Recently the Keens I've tried have an outer arch support along the outer edge of the foot in addition to the standard arch support, and this never used to be the case. It hurts my feet a lot. The Steens do NOT have that feature as far as I can discern. Hopeful.

I consider this Keen boot to be the perfect boot to order online. (I usually insist on trying my boots on at a brick and mortar store when they are not the Keen brand.) Please note that I always get a good fit when I consider the weight of the socks I will be wearing. Medium weight socks work fine with my exact shoe size.

These hiking boots fit perfectly and were so comfortable even on the first day (no breaking in required). I also think they're pretty cute as far a hiking boots go. I highly recommend.

These are super cute. I absolutely love them. Wore them right out of the box and was on my feet for 4 hours and no issues. These are narrower than my other keens but still very comfortable and warm. I’d say there are true to size. I wear a size 10 in athletic shoes and other keens and these fit perfect.

Suggestions from others who purchased these boots said a half size larger should be ordered. I didn't heed this warning and ordered my regular size. And of course, they were too small. Exchanged them for a half size larger and am very pleased with these boots. Very comfortable and sturdy with enough room for heavy socks. Great in the snow.

Great fit. 1.5 mile hike right out of the box with no break in period needed. Lots of room in the toe box and middle arch but foot does not slide around in these at all. Supportive and comfortable. Very good ankle support which is a big requirement for me. Fit was perfect with my regular size and a heavy wool sock. They look nice - for hiking boots. Keens are always well made and fit me the same across a variety of shoe styles.

I bought a 1/2 size larger after reading the reviews. Perfect fit, warm and comfortable for winter walking and hiking!

I normally wear a size 8, but often an 8.5 in athletic shoes, and I ordered an 8.5 after reading reviews, and they fit perfectly. There is plenty of room in the toe box, and just the right amount of space to wear a pair of warm socks without anything feeling squished. I also liked the way they looked, which is certainly secondary in a comfortable hiking shoe but nice all the same. I wanted these for winter hiking, and wore them for about a 4 mile hike for their first wear a couple days ago and they were very comfortable and warm. I think they will work perfectly this winter season.

Boots fit well. True to size. Pretty comfortable and warm.

Really like these, usually I am a true 7.5 in Keens with room for hiking socks but I found these small, ordered up a half size and they were perfect.

The boot was very narrow, my feet felt pinched in. I was dissappointed that the boot did not have any arch support. I did like the look of the boot however it must have been a return because it was scuffed up. I have to return the boot and decided to try a Merrill hiking boot.

The Keen Steens Mid Polar fit well right out of the box. Plenty of room in the toe box, good width; good support and sturdy and stable feeling outer sole. I have worn these numerous times for walking and hiking; I average 5 - 6 miles each time, and these boots fit well right away, no need for a break in period. They keep my feet warm, yet not sweaty. While the pandemic is raging, I plan to be walking more outside, winter or not, for physical activity as well as emotional well-being. There are two things however - 1. on the left boot, for some reason the top collar of the boot has been rubbing against the inside of my ankle bone and I'm not sure if I am able to adjust the boot to avoid that. 2. The boots have upper hooks at the very top for the boot laces; The hooks cut into the laces, and cause them to shred and unravel sooner than they should. If those top hooks could instead be eyelets/holes, that would be better. Overall I'm very happy with these boots. I would recommend them to others looking for a good fitting, stable and sturdy warm hiking boot that has a non-slip sole with a very good tread, and the boots are not too heavy in weight.

I am an 8.5 shoes size. I purchased a 9 as I often do with boots to leave room for heaver socks and a slightly wider fore foot and calf. The fit in the foot was great except the right boot was uncomfortably tight around my ankle when tied. I also felt that the tongue was situated oddly on the boots, so missed on style as well. Overall, I need them for winter hiking in snow and know that it would take too long for any break in around that right ankle until it was comfortable. Sadly, returning.

I thought this might be as comfortable as the Keen Terrill but they aren’t at all. Arch is uncomfortable and i could barely stand to have them on my foot. The Keen Terrill’s have much more support and a good arch to walk in all day right from the start.

Smaller than the half size smaller I own. No flexibility which felt like wearing cement boots.
