I must be wearing a different shoe than all these reviewers who say you need to size up in this boot. I am a true womens size 9, and my right foot sometimes even runs a tiny bit larger than a womens 9. That being said, I ordered both a 9 and a 9.5 based on all these reviews saying go a half size up. Totally unnecessary (thank you for free returns, Keen!). My normal size was comfortable and true, and the half size up was definitely too big. This boot has a roomy fit! Lots of space in there. I added Superfeet inserts for arch support, and I could walk/stand for hours in them, now. They're a little stiffer than what I was shopping for (not a deal breaker), but I'm hoping some of that will ease up over time. In conclusion, if you're planning on wearing three pairs of thick socks with these boots, then I guess go a half size up, but most of us in the snowy CO mountains seem to fare just fine with one pair of normal thickness wool socks.

I am delighted with these boots. Had to go up a complete size but can now wear thick socks with them. Took them straight out of the box and hiked for an hour on snowy trails. Really comfortable and warm.

I was looking for a hiking boot that is warm, waterproof, and lightweight. I average 5-7 miles a day of trail walking in the Huron National Forest. The terrain is uneven and snow covered depending on the time of year. I looked at a couple other boot makers, and settled on Keen because I have their sandals and hiking shoes. While I have only just started walking in these, the true test will be January, so far so good. Theyre comfortable, and warm. Waterproof and serious warmth will be determined in deep snow and subzero temps. I will write a follow up review. I know they claim to be slip proof, but we get no joke ice on our trails and I did feel them slipping so I put my crampons on to be safe. I think they would be fine on a shoveled sidewalk. They run tts. So far so good!

I'm just wearing these boots in, they are extremely warm and of great quality. I find my gait's changed as I walk in them, they're quite heavy and substantial and to prevent the rub on the ankles (or lower calf in my case) I have to tie the laces underneath the tongue and not fastened in to the top hook. The tread is great and has totally prevented any slipping in the frosty/icy weather. Other than those two gripes they're a good boot. I'm usually a 3.5 but ordered a 4 and find they fit perfectly with a good boot sock.

First let me begin by saying that these boots were not my first attempt to get new winter boots. I took three pairs back to E.B. that were about 2-3 taller but could not find a fit and the lacing was woefully lacking. So then, the hubs found a pair of Keens he really loves so I took a look at the brand. I have to be honest. Ive never found Keens to be attractive (its the Earth-shoe vibe in the toe box) but these as well and the hubs are different in that regard yet still have plenty of width for our toes. In fact, after reading many reviews that seemed contradictory about fit, I still purchased my usual 8.5 and they fit very well. Reviews were also mixed about warmth so I preemptively bought a pair of wool insoles from the big A which I put in the boots over top of the existing insole. I can either wear very thick wool socks and no extra insole or thin wool socks with the extra wool insole. Either way, I intend to have very warm feet for our next snowy adventure Additionally, the lacing system is great, the Vibram soles are the best for traction, theyre waterproof, the weight of the boots is not excessive AND, both me and the hubs think theyre cute;) All in all, you cant go wrong getting these boots! Besides, arent your feet worth it?

These boots fit perfectly from day one. Not only are they comfortable but my toes have never gotten cold. This is the first pair of boots that have kept my feet warm regardless of the temperature. I live in the country in northern Wisconsin and it gets cold here.

The boots are great. Theyre warm and comfortable right out of the box. The fit is great with a thick sock. I have a somewhat narrow foot and very narrow heel; the boots hold my heel down, which is often a problem for me. I normally wear a 7.5, but needed to size down to a 7. If I was going to wear thin socks, I might be good with a 6.5.

I absolutely love these boots. They are true to my European size, which is 39. With some brands that is an 8, with Keen that is 8.5. I have a wider foot and they were comfortable right out of the box. The uppers were pretty stiff but softened up quickly. I have worn them for a bunch of hikes in the snow and they have kept my feet warm and dry. They have great traction on the ice, too. The quilting on the top is cute and they feel like they are built to last. I hike almost daily in the winter, with and without snowshoes and these boots are really working out well for me!

Disappointed when I opened the box and found the Vetiver/Peachy color ordered not at all what I received. Dark brownish green is not what is advertised in the picture. Wonder if I just got a reject pair or if this is deceptive advertising? I normally love Keen and shoes/boots come as advertised, not at all the case this time.

My boots arrived very quickly. I'm normally a 3-3.5 and ordered a size 4. They fit snugly and will just accommodate a thick boot sock so definitely size up. They're very comfortable and lightweight. The only trouble I think I may have when I start wearing them every day is the tightness around the ankle as being only 5 feet tall they possibly do come up higher on my leg so there could be some possibility of chaffing. All in all though I'm very impressed with the quality.

I have lots of Keen footwear. I love them all except that none have been waterproof, even though they were supposed to be. Until now. This boot is waterproof, warm and comfortable. I live in the Rocky mountains and snow is a given. These boots are fantastic. I ordered up half a size per reviews; but my normal size would have been fine. They still work. Love them!

I bought these because of their claim of warmth down to -40F. I figured that was too good to be true but hoped it would at least keep my feet warm in above 0 temps. I wore them the past two weekends in 20-25 degree weather with a thick pair of wool socks and unfortunately my feet still were uncomfortably cold. I added toe warmers which helped but really was hoping for more warmth. They are very comfortable though and sooo much easier to move around and hike in than typical winter boots. Honestly not much warmer than my standard keen hikers though.

One of the boots is causing bruising of my ankle region on the outside. Maybe just me but I can hardly walk in these boots for more than five minutes. I have to keep that boot almost completely unlaced or else it is terribly painful. I literally had a bruise after wearing them once. Very disappointing.

I've purchased many different brands of hiking boots and I always return to Keens. First time for this particular boot and I was leary of the height because I have thick calf's. But these fit great and I have the ability to adjust tension where needed. I'm very happy with my purchase and for an added bonus, they were on sale when I bought them. I typically wear a size 7 to 7.5 but bought a size 8 to accommodate thicker socks.

As a first time Keen shopper I am very pleased. I have not worn the boots yet but I am excited to try them when the weather is cold enough. I liked them so much that I bought a pair for my husband. Well made, great sole and good up to minus 40 degrees. We also told our friend about them and he bought a pair.

When I first put these on, I thought they were a little big. Decided to trust the fact that I have worn the same size in Keens for a long time and go with them rather than returning for a half size smaller. Wore them to a football game on Saturday--walked about 1/4 of a mile from the car--thirty degrees and spitting snow--they were comfortable on the walk, comfortable through the game, comfortable walking back to the car, and my feet never got cold. Based on that, I'm very happy with the boots! Love the height. Great protection when the snow gets deep. Yet they are very lightweight. Highly recommend!!

Happy that these boots stood up to the test. I recently bought two different keen boots for a CO elk hunt. Spent 9 days hiking in 15+ inches of snow above 10k feet and my feet never got wet or cold in these boots compared to the men's pair I purchased that leaked after the 3rd time wearing them. I highly recommend these boots if you are looking for cold weather and waterproof. They do need a little break in because they are somewhat stiff but overrall great boots.

The shoe is very stiff and hits at a strange place on your lower calf. I could see it being painful after a while.

Really big, heavy, stiff, and clunky; hard to walk in. If you have very powerful legs and like a stiff and spacious big boot, maybe this is for you, but it made me walk funny right away because they were loose and heavy on my feet.
