I love this brand and style for running long distance and the shoes are incredible. However, I just bought the new Gel-Kayano 27 and have had a horrible experience. I ran in then for a few days to break them in, and they have been causing me lots of pain when I run, they feel like I'm running with no support, and need to return them.

Terrible quality. They crease at the toe and are very uncomfortable / unwearable as a result.

The toe box on both shoes collapsed after first day of use. Are unwearable. Will be trying to return. Completely disappointing for shoes that cost this much.

The cushion soles inside the shoe are too thin. They do not provide the comfort I am accustomed to from ASICS. I have to go to the store to buy some more cushions to make them effective.

Make sure you always check the return policy of the company you are purchasing your shoes from. As someone who has never ordered shoes online before (I know, get with the times) I didnt know I couldn't return the shoes after wearing them. Makes sense to the business. Can't resale worn shoes. I just didn't know to test them out indoor or on a treadmill. Just ran outside. Ruined my feet, and decided to return them after two runs. Too late. I would highly recommend shopping local and looking for a more generous return policy if you are new to this. Even with Covid.

Can't explain it, but on both of my new gel-k 27's the front of the shoes aren't conforming to my feet like my other ASICS have. And it feels like falling forward almost (I know I'm not but it's more the sensation I guess). Anyway lot of money to feel like that. Thanks, BE

Kayno 27 have become a shadow of the true Kayano. The quality has become terrible. The quality Kayno features like reinforced strike plate and real high abrasion rubber have all been slowly moved to the 250.00 Metarun. I was a huge Asic's fan for years , but the quality like the soles lasting for only three months have become too much and I jumped ship. This is not a true Kayno anymore it's a low-budget shell of itself. You can do far better for the 160.00 you would spend on these sad shoes. True Kayno fans have been disillusioned by the quality dropping year after year the "Meta-run" the true Kayno is 250.00 I will never pay nor should I.

Every Asic since the 20 has declined in quality as it's features were moved to the 250.00 Metarun. The Kayano's now are one of the cheapest made shoes. It's not real AHAR anymore only in the Metarun, no true guidance and heavy duty foot strike plate anymore all moved to the the Metarun. Todays Kayano's are terrible quality 160.00 doesn't buy much with Asic. you have to hit that 250.00 price tier today. I never thought I would have a negative thing to say about Asics now all I have is negatives.

A number of sires talked about the Kayano as a good shoe for stability and motion control (both of which I need big time), but they didn't work for me. I will have to try something else. Unfortunate, I was really hoping these would do the trick. Expensive mistake.

My friend recommended these shoes since I started running a lot. Never had a problem with my other shoes but thought this would improve my running since I have almost flat feet. Went with the recommendation on the site. This is the first pair of shoes ever that have given me problems. First run gave me blisters on both of my feet where my arch is supposed to be. Shin splints and sore knees are another problem I didn't have before. Really had high hopes for these shoes. Your experience may be different but that's how mine was.

The front of the shoe folds in when walking and rubs against toes. The front is not sturdy enough. Probably a design flaw.

Returned. Hadnt glue pieces hanging out from parts of the shoes. Felt it was returned by someone else. Or maybe they didnt so proper quality checks once it was manufactured.

I dont know what happened to Asics. I have been a loyal Asic customer for years, I estimate I have had 40 pairs. This pair is not only uncomfortable, the tongue is too long and rubs my foot uncomfortably. This was to replace a pair that fell apart after 250-300 running miles. They used to last 450-500 miles. I may have to consider Brooks moving forward
