I bought the shoes to use at work, as l am on my feet 10+ hours a day, on a concrete floor, in a retail setting. My job demands a lot of walking, and I will average 9,000+ steps per day, according to my smartwatch. First impression was of the unusually high sole. Aesthetically, it looks like an orthopedic shoe, or a great choice for the Frankenstein monster. The bigger concern however, was in sustaining my balance, especially in descending stairs. On the positive side, the huge cushioned sole makes your steps feel super quiet and lighter. I'm on my third week or so, and I'm on the fence because it's not the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. It is extra wide, but the shape appears to be a mismatch with the shape of my foot. For this reason, there is some friction that causes mild discomfort. I've owned other brands that are smaller, that fit better, but have cheap soles. So, Hoka was a logical experiment.

This is my third pair of Bondis. Loved the other two. However this pair did not meet the standard. The area behind the left heel collapsed the first time I put them on. Also, there is not enough arch support in the left shoe. Seems like there is a defect just with the left one.

If I were to try Bondi 7 on in a store, I would not have made the purchase and would have continued with the Bondi 6.

After only 90 days the sole came unglued. Sent them back for an exchange, I had to pay for the shipping. Then the replacement was the wrong size. Howard payed for the return and I am now waiting for the refund. It's only been 2 weeks, so it should come soon.

The Meta-Rocker defeats the purpose of a shoe I need with a raised heel to relieve pain in my achilles. The wide shoe box was great but the heel problem was too much to overcome.

I expected a full cushioned shoe. What I got was a firm and uncomfortable arch support. The outer(opposite) side of the shoe felt taller and much more cushioned than the arch side tilting my feet a bit. Maybe the way I walk but I have never come across this fit in any shoe I have worn todate. The arch area was so firm I felt like I would rub a blister. If it matched the rest of the shoe things would have been much better... sadly returning these. Expected so much.

The Brooks Glycerin 18 so much more comfortable

I thought these would fit better for the price I paid of $160. The size fit great, but the width is narrow on the wide. The sides of the shoe are jamming into my arch when I walk and it hurts. Otherwise, the shoe would be perfect. Love the color and style. They just hurt my arches.

I genuinely like the shoe as a whole. I was excited about the heel cup modification. However, the heel cup wore out after less than two months. And exposed aggravating plastic. Not turned off the to Bondi series. Just the 7.

I have foot problems and wide feet. I use to be able to wear the women's bondi with my orthotics just fine. The last few years I have had to switch to men's wide because the women's were too narrow, even the wides. Now I find the men's bondi 7 in wides is still to narrow. It seems as if the design of your shoe has changed to being more narrow? Please make them wider and remove the plastic edge around the sole, it is very sharp. Thanks much

I walk two miles daily for health reasons and they are very comfortable, the problem is the uppers are of poor quality, after 5 or 6 months my big toe pokes through. My wife had the same experience, very comfortable but uppers wore through. I bought another pair for the comfort even thought they wear out to fast for that kind of money, I walk with my toes sticking out. haha!

Third pair of Bondis. These are great except for the memory foam in the upper heal. Wore them for a month then noticed the left shoe had the memory foam, the right shoe did not and just had regular foam. Someone is cheating Hoka out of the memory foam at the manufacturing level. Customer service was great and is sending me a new pair.

I bought the Bondi 7 size 13--usually wear size 14, but not in Hoka Bondi 7--seems to be too marrow just below the little toe and it painfully compresses my foot there. However, this may be due to an insert I use to replace Hoka insert. I know, "What an idiot, what does he expect!", but I did this at the recommendation of a Podiatrist who also recommended the Hoka Shoe. So, go figure. I guess I'll have to live with it. No I haven't run an extensive controlled experiment using the Hoka insert. But I will.

I walk 50 miles/week, and the Bondi 6 shoe has fabulous cushioning. I have purchased 6 pair of Bondi 6, and the Bondi 7 does not feel like a plush cushion.

I am 5"11, 175lbs. My feet are wide. My first pair of Hoka shoes were wide. I didn't know extra wide was an option at that time. The insoles were too narrow for me. I could feel the end of the insole on the outside of my foot. I did appreciate the cushion in my first pair, so when I noticed that they made an extra wide I made the purchase. When they arrived I pulled out the insoles from the wide and extra wide and the widths are identical. See photo. The. Lue insole is the wide and it is a bit rounded, so it doesn't lay exactly flat. I feel as though I was scammed.

These were great with fit and amount of padding, they really worked great! I could not ask for a better balanced and padded for my 40 miles a week walking. Though I am very disappointed that the right shoe’s heel section padding became disconnected only on the right shoe and caused a bit of pain. I only use these shoes for my walking and I only had them for 30 days and had walked only 200 miles but now they are unusable due to the problem with the heel padding. As a benchmark, my previous Brooks Ghost 12’s lasted for over 380 miles. For a $150 shoe, you would expect more miles out of these without the heel padding breaking loose. I did buy another pair as these were just too good to give up on other than the padding giving out. Hope I get it was one of those one off manufacturing issues and that the next set will not have any issues. If not for the issue with the heel I would give this a five out of five in all departments.

The wider shoe fits better, but they don't feel as cushioned as the #6 I bought and wore before. I might have to get used to them.
