I love Hokas (this is my third pair of trail runners) and my husband thinks they look clunky and a bit ridiculous. I think they're great. Extreme cushioning without losing support, is why I wear them. I didn't actually try them without my custom orthotics so I can't vouch for the support. The Stinson ATR replaces my Speedgoat 3s, and these are wider in the forefoot and more comfortable across the instep, by far. I picked them because they were rated the highest in cushioning. They are a bit clunky looking but they definitely don't feel like that on. My plantar fasciitis and metatarsalgia are completely quiet in these. I mostly walk and hike in these, but intend to try jogging with them too. Highly recommended.

Wow. Hoka scores again. I have been wearing the Challenger for outdoor trail runs/walks for the past year and the Bondi as a daily wear shoe. When the Challenger wore out I looked for my next shoe and everyone said the Stinson was closest to the Bondi. They were right. It is a fabulous trail shoe. Less road debris gets in the shoe than with the Challenger, the cushioning is better, and for supination it is wonderful. The arch support is excellent. I was worried at first because it seemed a bit loose or maybe even too wide. I read a review from someone else who mentioned using the last hole for lacing and it worked. It feels perfect now and I hate taking them off after hitting the trail. I only do about 14 miles a week, but I am sold. I may get another pair just in case they do a redesign. Yes. They look like a Hoka and are a bulkier looking shoe, but I just don't care anymore. No injuries are my goal.

So plush and yet super sturdy on trails. I live in/around Olympic National Park, which has a decent amount of rugged terrain, even in my own backyard. These shoes have been essential for the many hikes and runs I've taken in this area. Can't recommend enough. Love everything about them.

I really like my Bondi 7 but wanted a plush cushion with an outsole that would stand up to hiking trails. I really like this shoe over the SpeedGoat 3 and the SpeedGoat 2. I don't feel the rocks through the sole which is awesome and I can slip right into them without the tongue bunching up, if I am too lazy to untie them. The dark teal color is great too for hiding dirt!

I have tried so many shoes both other brands as well as within Hoka family of shoes. I ran many miles (~400mls/mo) and every shoe just felt hard and made my feet so sore. But these are so light, max cushion w/o any drag so no sacrifice of performance. I don't feel sore and can go forever! This show is awesome, highly recommend!

I love this shoe for roads and trails! I always get 1/2 size down with Hokas. I feel they stretch out some when I run but could be just me and liking a tighter fit. I also wear the Bondis and Cliftons but once I found these I just fell in love!

I use these for roads and trail. Great support. And I love the look and colors. I get asked about them a lot ! I've ran in Hokas for 7 years. By far my favorite shoe so far ! I always wear a 1/2 size down.

fits well, more like the first Stinson I had (#3) than the #5 and seems better quality than the #5. the colors look good except that as an old lady i don’t really need the bright yellow accents. the comfort is exceptional, as always.

Zappos keeps asking for a review, but I returned these. And I bought another HOKA style instead. These are ATR's and I didn't pay attention to what that meant for me. I don't do ATR and these were "too much shoe" for my needs. I bet they are fantastic on the trail though. All Hoka's have advantages, I don't buy any other brand anymore.

I love these shoes, I go back and forth between Stinson ATRs and Cliftons, I have yet to have a pair of Hokas I haven't appreciated. These shoes are sooo much better than Asics which took forever to break in. Hokas I never have to break in, they are like running on a cloud from the get go.

My hikes are usually 2-3k vertical ft. and 4-6 hrs long. I have a replaced knee and the other has some arthritis so the plush cushion on theses shoes are a life(knee) saver! They're stable and stick to rocks. They do need to be laced tighter when going downhill for added lateral support. They work very well for me so I bought a second pair just incase the style was changed.

These are stable shoes and cushioned. They are very roomy. I wear a 9 and ordered a 9 and I usually get a wide shoe-(I don't know if these come in wide or not, but I did not get the wide) but these are plenty wide and 8.5 may have worked fine but I like room in my shoes for my feet to swell. I have plantar fasciitis in one foot and a painful bunion on the other foot. I have been having a very hard time finding shoes to run in. I am training for a 30 mile trail run. I think I finally found the shoe that I need and don't cause me pain. They are big and bulky but at this point all I care about is pain free. I have had 2 other pair of Hokas- the clifton and the challenger. Both good shoes for me but I wanted something more rugged and had deeper tread for the trails--the Stinson ATR6 is it and I will buy again.

I walk/run on either gravel or on a trail through the countryside. With the shoes I had before these, I was always turning an ankle on the rock. These shoes have such a stable base and so much cushion that I don't even hardly know I'm on rock! I highly recommend them!
