My adult son recently was outfitted with a new brace and we were stumped in finding sneakers for him. we went to store after store, and we could not find a shoe to fit over the brace without going up two sizes (in some cases that didn't even work), which meant the shoe on the foot without the brace would fall right off his foot. We were so frustrated, and so were sales people who tried to help us. I almost went back to the brace clinic to get them to redo the brace, but first went online and I discovered Billy Shoes! I was skeptical, but went ahead and ordered two different sizes. They arrived quickly, and I loved the quality. I held my breath, and my son put on the sneaker over the brace. It was difficult to zipper all the way but we received an email from Billy Shoes telling us to loosen the laces so that the zipper would close easily. We hadn't even written to them but the email arrived right when we were trying on the shoes. Voila!! They fit perfectly! And I love the fact that the laces are there, but the zipper is hidden in the seams. It has increased my son's independence and he doesn't have to rely on people to help him tie his laces. He loves them, and we're getting ready to order another pair. Thank you BILLY Shoes for making our life easier!!!

These are the coolest shoes ever! My feet are very wide and I need to accommodate AFOs. Finding shoes that work for me has been hard, but these are great. You'd never know they zip open except I keep telling people! So glad it's possible to buy a single shoe so can create a pair with sizes that work best for both feet.

Look great and fit just as the instructions on the website indicated that they would. My son likes the style, and overall we are really happy with these shoes. We are happy enough that we actually ordered a second pair in a different style! Now, if Billy would just make some work boots (ala Muck boots or the like) for men!

My father loves these shoes. He has a rather bulky AFO and we have a much easier time putting shoes on now. He likes the style and feel. Lovely

We love these shoes. My 20 year old has CP and we have purchased 4 pairs lately and love the ease and craftsmanship of Billy shoes. I wish we knew about these years ago.

My son wears carbon fiber leg braces and it has been extremely hard to find any shoes comfortable to fit that last . So far it has only been a week .he is 16 and every day he comes home he tells me how much he loves these shoes !!!! I am so happy they help him bc he does have pain and it has made it much more comfortable. He has no muscle on the tops of his feet so the braces prevent drop foot and these shoes help him so much so thank you!

My son loves his new Billy shoes. He now has 4 selected styles. This latest style &; size in 12 XW is best for use when wearing his custom Fab Tech leg braces for balance &; walking if having Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy. Even mom has a couple pairs, in smaller sizes of course &; loves them

These are great shoes! Definitely what I needed to fit my braces. They're very comfortable and easy to put on, I'll be ordering again in the future.

These shoes are awesome for AFO braces! Easy to put on! These really simplifies life. I love the look with my braces. I bought 1/2 a size bigger then the measurement chart said I needed. I had to loosen the ties and take out the insole and then they were perfect!! I just got them but they look like really good quality.

My son loves the look of these shoes. I love the function. So easy to put on with AFO's. The width allows room for the brace and the zipper makes putting on and taking off super easy.

Very good quality. Great idea. The only thing we had to order a size 13 extra wide to get it wide enough for my husbands insert. I am hoping they can make size 11 in a 2 or 3 extra wide.

I am able to learn how to walk again on my own. I don't have to wear the hospital walking boot as much. The are comfortable and easy to get on and off.

once again, I have a shoe that actually works for someone with leg disabilities. I show these shoes to everyone and they freak out because they had no idea this was an option. I am a very happy customer!

My father recently got a foot brace and it made his foot too thick to wear shoesthen we heard of the Billy footwear company and decided to give them a try. They work great! And look good too! It would be nice to custom order because now one shoe is a size too big for his other foot.

I just happen to stumble upon these shoes while searching online for a comfortable shoe for my son with Spastic Cerebral Palsy as we are trying for him to gain his independence. We loved this product and I wished I had found it a lot sooner!!

My son loves Billy sneakers. He uses AFO's . These sneakers allow hime to wear shoes that are sooo stylish. Thank you for the wide widths!

My shoes are the first pair I've not had to wean into in 35 years [ C4, 1985 ]. I can wear these stylish shoes to any sort of event.

Thus is the second pair of Billy Shoes I've purchased for my son, who us special needs and wears AFO braces. The shoes are not made for braces, but I ordered a couple of sizes up, took the insoles out, and voila, they work great! The first pair lasted an entire year. Just bought another. They are so well made, I think they are worth every penny!

So happy that I found some shoes where my son can feel independent and I don't have to work so hard putting his shoes on over his AFO's. ! Really hope more choices come out for joggers for adults. Has a more tennis shoe type sole. Which I really prefer compared to the thicker sole in his other pair of Billy shoes.

I got these shoes for my Mother, she has been unable to find appropriate shoes since getting her new foot brace. These shoes are perfect! The removable insole is great to accommodate the brace and her swollen foot. The zip is such a fantastic idea. We will be buying these again.

Really comfortable right away. Didn't have to "break them in" so they'd feel good. They look great. You can't find skate shoes in wide sizes. These are as close as you can get. I liked them so well I ordered another pair in a different color. They look better on you than the picture appears. The zipper doesn't stand out, it's not really noticeable. Lots of cushion too. I'm liking these shoes a lot.
