My mother who always talked of being cold isn't complaining. In fact, she brags to her friends of how toasty she is now .

The cut on this base layer is really tight around the mid section. It's not the same cut as previous shirts I have purchased. The wool is a bit itchy which it hasn't been in the past. I had to exchange a Medium for a large even though I wore a Medium in the past. Lastly, I use to wear this shirt as a T-shirt on it's own. My past shirts hung nicely, not too tight and not too lose. Not sure if the large will work as a t-shirt. May have to wear under sweaters.

Excellent! The lilac color is beautiful.
Been a Smartwool wearer for about 20 years, so you don't have to "sell" me on it's versatility: snow sports, outdoor winter tennis, kayaking, hiking, or put sweaters with a skirt...
Thank you for continuing to offer quality , Su

Bought this for my daughter for skiing. She absolutely loves it and says it's very warm. She'll also wear when she runs or bikes in the colder weather.

I am really happy with the feel and fit of this crew. An XL is taller, with long enough sleeves for a taller woman (I am 5'9" with long arms and long body), without becoming a tent and long enough in the body so that it tucks in and stays tucked in. I have at least four SmartWool crews now, and I will wind up with more, I am sure, for all the days of the week in winter. Also, the colors are beautiful. I bought a fuchsia and a purple mist heather and I love them both. #sweepstakes

Hands down, THE warmest, most comfortable base layer I have ever worn. I've been wearing the thermal base layer for many years - in the past it has been my go-to first layer on the ski slope, and these days it keeps me cozy warm on cold, early morning hikes with the pup. It's absolutely worth the price tag and I highly recommend for outdoor activities in cold temps.

Another beautifully made garment with shoulders and length just right, but torso and sleeves feel tight and comprressive on my supoer lean frame.

I previously wrote a review with the same title, and I felt honor bound to update that rating and review. Despite my initial poor experience with Smartwool customer service, when I asked for a supervisor to review my claim, I received a new "decision" from CS that my warranty claim had been approved. So Smartwool did (apparently anyway) honor their warranty, at least after I challenged their original denial. Just want to be fair to them so I raised my rating by a star and am writing this update. My other comments stand.

I love my best layer Marino crew smart wool items. I just would love it if they came in white as well! They are so cozy and warm And I'm missing a flight from my wardrobe

Love the color and the sleeve length...it's a bit tight, but I know the next size would be too big...my body not your product...highly recommend folks think carefully how they will use it.

Yesterday I submitted a review because I was disappointed that Smartwool Customer Service had rejected my claim. Last evening I received notice that they will make an exception (because I had attempted to repair the damage) and they will accommodate my damage claim.
This is good customer service, I appreciate the accommodation and they retained a loyal customer.

I am super sensitive to wool, especially on my upper body. The material bothers me just a little, but that's not wholly unusual. Great fit! For reference I'm 5' 11", 152#, 34DD

I use this as a base layer in the colder months for outside activities and running. The fit is very flattering - I like the length and the colors are great. I ordered the dark teal/blue color and it does show sweat stains - which is a minor complaint. When the cold weather comes back around I will be purchasing another one to add to my collection.

Haven't worn it out to run yet, since the weather isn't cold enough. But the fit feels fine.

I LOVE Smartwool and have been wearing their base layer crew and zipped models for years. They are warm without being bulky and can easily be layered. They wash beautifully and last forever. My one beef is that they are not made in Petite sizes. So I am left wearing them tucked in only or under overalls. And while I do wear those a lot, I would at least like the option of wearing them out and not having them come way down my hips.

Second base layer that I have purchased. I live in NE MN. and this is my "go to" base layer when it is very cold. It is also super comfortable.

she loves it. only complaint is the laundry tag on the inside seam. she says the seam/tag rubs against her side and is uncomfortable (watch out for those peas, princess).
