Yes these are extremely fitted so wear thin socks. Yes the cushion inside initially feels odd because it doesn't extend the entire floor of the shoe, but conforms to your foot overtime. No, these are not slide on easy so use the tongue and ankle tabs to pull on. Overall, these shoes are my go-to for walking anywhere because they are comfortable to my feet and legs by absorbing shock. I usually wear 7 or 7.5, but like others recommended to go up a size, I bought an 8 in these and they fit perfectly. I have wide feet and the strap feels tight at first, but again, the shoe conforms over time and feels fine as long as I wear thin sport ankle socks. Made the mistake of wearing thick socks one day and regretted it b/c my feet felt like they lost feeling.
