When my boots came I loved them the minute I opened the box. However,I Was so disappointed when it took me ages to practically squeeze my foot in. I really wish these boots had a zip, even a half zip would be good. Once I squeezed into them the fit was perfect so I think even a half size up would be too big and not sure how much easier they would be to put on/off. They were very stiff but I’m sure they would soften with time. The one thing that really made me return them(eventually after trying to break them in) was the fact they rubbed so bad under my right ankle that it broke the skin. For the price of these boots I would expect them to feel and fit like a slipper.....so disappointed as I loved the color and style and looked for so long for the perfect boot!

I bought a size 11 because that’s the size that’s been fitting me best. The boot slips up and down at the back of my heel, which would be ok if the inside of the boot in that area wasn’t so hard. They give me blisters. They’re a little slim at the area where the ball of my foot is. It gets uncomfortable after a while, on the sides. Please understand that boots have no zipper. You have to really wedge your foot in the boot. I have to push and pull and move the foot around to get it in. If you’re prone to feeling claustrophobic, just don’t. It’s not easy. It’s hard to get the foot all the way in. There’s definitely no padding inside. For me, even buying the large size, they’re too tight fitting to wear an extra pair of socks, so they’re not great for cold weather. They look nice. I would return them, but I got them really dirty the first weeeknd I wore the, so I feel like I shouldn’t. Would not buy again.

This is a great looking boot, I just couldn’t get my foot all the way in to it. The boot is narrow around the ankle and it was impossible for me to get my foot all the way on. I ordered a 7 1/2 which is the size of another pair of Frye boots I have that fit great, but there is a zipper on those. Pretty boot and great service with Zappos... they just didn’t fit.

I'm a size 7 in every shoe I purchase but I'm telling you- I couldn't even get them on! No zipper on the side, so that intersection where your foot has to make it past just above the heel on the boot- it was a NO GO. After struggling I got ONE foot in and I was sweating. My left foot my be slightly larger because it was literally just stuck- there was no way I was going to get my foot in there. I was SO SAD to return them because they are GORGEOUS boots. I'm going to order a larger size and get insoles if they are too big. I need these boots! Ps. They smell really good- brand new lovely leather. #swoon I'm crossing my fingers getting a size up will be a guarantee fit.

Purchased in the cognac and the color was very patchy and ugly, not like in the photos. Returned.

I own a half dozen Frye boots and this one fits like none other. First of all, it feels like it is a size smaller than the other boots. The width is off too. Very narrow. I wore these for one hour before I had to take them off. NEVER have I had this issue with Frye. I am so disappointed.

I have wanted some Frye boots for awhile so the Black Friday sale seemed like the time to do it. Other reviews said they run narrow so I sized up half a size. They were loose in the heel and squeezed my toe box even with thin socks. They are were bulkier looking in person than online. I expected to be blown away by a different look and good quality but they were just ‘meh’. I couldn’t wear them comfortably and even for half off they are too expensive to keep.

I have to agree with the previous reviewer. I have narrow feet, moderately high arches and average sized female calves. These boots were extremely narrow, tight and ill-fitting. I am a 9 in Frye's so that's what I went with here, and they were strangely too long in the toe but my heel felt jammed in and pinched. If you have even remotely wide-ish feet you probably won't even be able to get them on. I couldn't really wear them on top of skinny jeans because the calf area was extremely restricting. (I was able to get them on over my jeans, but it wasn't pretty) I realize they are a higher quality leather and will definitely need break-in time but I'm not going to keep them to find out. I don't think professional stretching would even be the answer. I purchased the Smoke and it was a lovely dark charcoal grey. :-(

These boots are very tight on the leg, I do not have large calves, and do not have this problem with other Fryes. The back of the boot where your heel goes is very tight, uncomfortable, and poorly made. I really wanted to like these but they don't work.

I wanted to love these so bad!! But they were literally so small, specifically in the calves that I couldn't even get them on. I would say I have "normal" sized calves and there was no chance at all of pulling these boots on. The color and leather is absolutely beautiful, but you'd have to have rail-sized calves to get these boots on. Would love to see these made with a bigger shaft circumference...
