My son is an SMO wearer but does not walk well in the flat sole of the high tops... this shoe gave him a better option sole with a more of an athletic shoe.

I am a huge Billy shoes fan. This is third pair in my collection, and I have been zealously spreading the word to friends and family and anyone else who will listen. As an adult with spina bifida and very tiny feet, shoes are always a struggle. Most things that fit me were designed for second graders, and are hard to put on and take off.
I don't wear AFO braces, like many other people with s.b. However, it is hard for me to wriggle my toes into place once I jam my feet into normal shoes. Billy's zip-top flap makes getting into the shoes (and boots) a pleasure, and the removable insole allows plenty of room for my feet - with orthotics - to fit perfectly.
Hooray for Billy shoes! Keep up the great work.

These shoes work with my son’s SMOs. The Billy website will say they aren’t necessarily designed for SMOs but they are better than any XW shoes or anything else we tried. *Tip* unlace and loosen the laces for wide feet and braces.

My son wears Cascade DAFOs. He's worn the Billy Classic Lace Low and High for a few years. While those shoes are great, I like these even better. These are much lighter than the rather heavy Classic Lace Low and High shoes. And these run a little small, at least compared to the Billy Classic Lace Low in the same size, which is nice because Billy shoes don't come in half sizes. My son needed a size 3.5 and these shoes in a size 4 fit well.

Side zipper and removable inserts are lifesavers if your baby has chunky feet. We had trouble getting the Velcro straps on regular shoes to close and he would slip out of them. These are much more comfortable for my new walker.

My little wears a AFO for foot drop. Since he only needs one, it has been extremely difficult to find proper shoes that fits that AFO. The bottom of the AFO is very bulky. I came across Litte Feet in Wesley Chapel, FL where I was able to try on different shoes and came across the red/blue Billy Joggers. The closest store with Billy Shoes and they are still about 2 hours away from where we live. The foot that does not have an AFO, I placed both cushions on the shoe so the foot can be snugged. Now that I know the Billy Joggers fit perfect, I ordered a second pair, but black and grey. Love this color since it matches with everything. I wish more stores carry Billy Shoes so we are able to try on since not all shoes fit the same with AFO, braces... etc. Thank you Billy!
