These boots are the bomb! I wore them for the first time during an overnight backpacking trip, totaling about 24 miles over 2 days, and my feet were SO comfortable! First, I ordered a whole shoe size up because my feet have a tendency to swell up real bad, I like to wear thick socks hiking, plus I have wide feet, so the wide toe box was clutch and my feet were definitely able to breath. I typically hike in trail running shoes but having some ankle stability was really nice, especially on certain terrain I encountered (lots of rocks and downhill). The amount of cushion was just enough to absorb some shock when it was necessary but it was also was firm enough to not feel like your stepping on clouds for miles at a time (I personally don't like super cushioned shoes). I also accidentally stepped in a river two separate times while trying to cross but my socks and feet stayed totally dry! The vibram sole and lugs on the bottom were excellent the entire time, never thought I would fall or slip on any difficult terrain. Oh and they were incredibly light, which was a pleasant surprise! No blisters, hot spots, nothing! If I had to pick ONE thing that I did not like is that I had some debris (small sticks and leaves) enter into my shoes from the back, but that wasn't a huge deal at all. These are legit the BEST hiking shoes I have ever worn and I'm an avid hiker. Honestly, Topo sneakers have been a life saver for me (I own 7 different pairs) and I'm a really picky shoe girl. Definitely a keeper, nice job Topo!

After years of abuse to my feet teaching martial arts and dance I had surgery on both feet I have finally found my shoe. I have bought 3 different pairs and extremely happy with every one. Wide toe box with great arch support along with being able to tighten for ankle support. I can go miles with these puppies and my feet don't suffer. They are extremely comfortable.
I did make the mistake of buying another hiking boot because I didn't want to stay with one brand. Awful experience with sore feet and ankles were rubbed raw. They were also heavy. I wore them once and afraid to try again.
So...staying with Topos.
I appreciate your attention to detail and design.

I wear the magnafly and love them deeply. Unfortunately the 5 mm drop, the stiffness, and area of stitching make it so that these effect my big toe joint poorly by adding pressure directly over the joint. Otherwise, I can see them being very popular, just not for me

I was glad to find these boots in a women's size 12. In addition they were not black or brown! I needed a replacement for my current Keen's (men's size 11). Out of the box and on the trail, the boots fit great. I love the fit around the foot and ankle, and my toes have plenty of room. It took me a few hikes to get used to the low heel to toe drop fit. Great grip on rocks (wet and dry). Love the lacing system. They do lack the stiffness in the footbed, so I do not wear them for hikes in the Whites with extremely tough terrain. Also, feet get very wet when ground is not dry and I have to hike through, wet/muddy trail or wet grass. Love the weight..nice and light. I will keep this boot in my collection and would consider buying other TOPO products.

I use these shoes to walk the city streets, due to shut-down. They were immediately comfortable and give my ancient, abused feet much needed support and cushion. I considered getting a half size larger because the 1/2 size option only came in the reddish color, not my favorite color, however, my last pair of Topo's at 10 1/2 were an exact fit with little wiggle room so going down was out of the question and going up seemed risky. I am glad I settled on my regular size in reddish, the 10 1/2 fit nicely with comfortable wiggle room (I can even wear bulky socks) and I have grown very fond of the color. I wonder why Topo only offers a few styles in 1/2 sizes.
I love these shoes!

I have a pair of Topo shoes which are my "when I have knee pain shoes. I so hoped the TOPO boots would work too but they just don't do it for me...mostly just not as comfortable as Altras and Hokas...I get upper back pain from them so they are headed back!

I have worn this shoe now on a number of hikes and thus far, it is absolutely the best hiking boot I've ever had. My toes have room to spread out, and yet the form of the shoe holds my foot in place on the downhills, so my toes never bump the front. I also have not experienced any shifting or rubbing with the wider toe box, and the shoe provides stability and firmness, while remaining light and flexible as well. My feet feel much better than I am used to them feeling after hikes. Honestly, this shoe is a game changer for me. I have thin, small heels and a wider toe box, and my feet are small, so finding shoes that work for me has historically been difficult. While I have not worn it for a full hiking season yet, what I've experienced so far has been great. I would highly recommend this shoe.

Just bought these today and they seem to be exactly the kind of hybrid I was looking for. Love the roomy toe box which allows for 1/2 size smaller than I usually wear. I normally use inserts for added arch support, but these provide just enough. They also provide the perfect amount of cushion, yet rigid support as well. They have more support than Altras, and less cushion than Hoka One Ones, which are a bit too soft for my feet. The rubber toe protection is great. I hope to get lots of miles on these, as I tend to be rough on my favorite shoes!

I will probably never buy another casual / athletic shoe brand besides TOPO. TOPO has the perfect toe box (I’ll call it duck foot). The .5 foot drop is very comfortable for my walking stride and high arches. Honestly, I’ve never had a more comfortable shoe ever, right out of the box, brand new. This is my 3rd pair of TOPO’s and I may start a collection. The designs and colors are also very cool. I love the red especially. Ty TOPO and ty Zappos for making shoe buying online so easy and pain free in getting the right size with free/easy returns!

I have been searching for the best combination between support and flexibility. I need the ankle support from a pair of boots but the open wide toe box and flexibility of trail runner shoes. These boots are just perfect. After trying several styles, these were the best fit for my small, wide, chubby, and flat feet. I recently used them on a 4-day backpacking trip in Arkansas going up hills and mountains with high elevations and lots of water crossings, completing 34 miles. These boots performed perfectly. Not a single blister, they dry fast, and kept my feet comfortable and supported. I ordered 1.5 size bigger, and noticed there was a gap were my pinky toes lay and was feeling some rubbing on it, so I added a little of duct tape in the inside were my pinky toes sit and once I did that, I had no issues, no blisters, no pain, just pure comfort and support. Because of that I suggest perhaps only 1 or 1/2 size larger. I am still very happy with my purchase and I highly recommend them. If I could give 10 stars I would. Trust me when I say, I have been searching for over a year, and I am happy with my new boots. My trail name is Boots.

I bought them for a thru hike of the Pinhoti trail. At 90 miles in I love them and I don't expect to change my mind. These are the first hiking boots I have worn that have not hurt my feet or caused hotspots. I will absolutely buy these again.

Had 3 surgeries on R foot. My hiking boots too tight and wide boots too sloppy. Topo hiking boots with rock plate fit perfect and allowed me to get back hiking.

I love my Altrafly sneakers. They are the best fitting shoe I have ever worn. Can't wait to see what else the company has in store for us wide toe box people. Thank you!!!

These shoes are THE MOST comfortable shoes I have worn in years. They support my feet and allow all the working parts in my foot to do their thing, which makes them very comfortable to wear. My first choice in shoes!

I LOVE these shoes. I bought these shoes about a year ago and they are the only shoes I wear now. The only time I've worn different shoes is flip flops at the pool/beach. That's how awesome these shoes are. With the roomy toe box and low heel to toe drop, they are really comfortable. I keep thinking about how when these wear out, I'm definitely buying another pair, but since they still look great I don't know when that will be! Super durable.

I've been doing a bit more heavy-hiking/backpacking this spring, and finally needed to level-up from using my daily walker/runner shoes to something a bit more supportive. I hemmed and hawed over which shoe to get for days - I have wide feet and need a roomy toe box and many hiking boots run too narrow for me. I finally pulled the trigger on the Topos because I have a pair of Topo runners that I love. Despite what you might hear, my experience was that this hiking shoe DOES need some breaking in. The first time I wore them, I had the dreaded "toe pinch" thing that other reviews talk about and I was worried that even these wide-toe-box shoes would be too narrow or not fit right. But I was feeling too lazy to start a return, so I wore them again. And again. And by the 4th outing they fit like a charm. I just got back from a backpacking overnight and my feet were comfortable all day, over rough terrain, carrying a full pack. I ordered a half-size up and they are a tiny bit big on me, even with my bulky hiking socks. But I love them nonetheless and I think they will be my go-to for rough terrain for quite a while!
TLDR: These felt pinchy at first, but after a few wears are fantastic. They are light and sturdy, and stay comfortable all day. If you order, give them a chance to break in! It made a huge difference for me.

I bought the trail/hiking style for when we go on moderate hikes in the mountains or to wear on long walks with different terrain. I love the roomy toe box and how the laces can be tightened to hold my foot in place. I tried other brands for hiking and my feet were very uncomfortable. There is no need to "break" these shoes in, they feel great from the start!

I love my new topos. The size I got is perfect with no socks. I think I will go up a 1/2 size and buy another pair to have some to wear in the winter with socks.

I struggled in the past w shoes that quickly became too wide in the last (midfoot), that I couldn't lace them well. These fit perfect as soon as I put them on and have remained a great fit ever since. Thanks
So sad that the other pair I was waiting to add to my cart, didn't go up to a 10.5

I love the wide toe box. It allows my feet room to swell when it's hot and humid, and space to stay warm when it's cold!
