I agree that one might want consider 1/2 size smaller than usual. I normally wear a 12, and an 11.5 more or less fits. I do wonder if a 12 wouldn't be better for me. These are nice shoes, but there isn't much special about them either. They are nice and light. They remind me of a ECCO sneakers...a bit nicer though. Generally I love Mephistos for their roomy, comfy interiors and big toe box, e.g. the Jerome was great for me. I'm a little disappointed that these have more of a cramped feeling. Again, it could be that I need 12. Also, I don't do well with lots of arch support. Some Mephistos feel like they are constantly jabbing me in the arch of my fairly flat foot. Like the Jeromes, these seem ok on this point. Overall, nice shoes. Worth $250? Mmmmm....maybe? If they fit you well, I'm guessing they will be a happy purchase. A little too cramped for me.

The size 9 shoe, which I normally take (I have been wearing Mephistos for the last 25 years) was at least a half size too big. I ordered a 9 and then had to return it. I just ordered an 8.5 replacement so I hope they fit properly. Something is going on with their sizing lately. I bought a previous pair in a different style that was at least a whole size too big on the 9s.I love Mephistos, although they are way expensive they are so comfortable which is why i have been buying them all this time and they wear well but they need to pay attention as their styling has gone from bad to worse recently and their sizing too. Get it together Mephisto!

update to my previous review - even a half size down was still too big. The sizing on these is weird. I ALWAYS take a 9 with Mephistos. Why the change? wasn't anyone looking?? So I'll try an 8 when I get the $500+ refund on the previous 2 tryouts.if that doesn't work, I'm done.

As with most Mephistos, they run large. These were about a half size large and I was glad I sized down when ordering. I have other models that run a full size large. The quality of material and workmanship is also expected with Mephistos and this model didn't disappoint. They cost about twice most other pairs of white sneakers but the quality shows and they are very comfortable just like most all Mephistos.

Very comfortable. Not sure how well they will hold up - but time will tell.

IMPORTANT UPDATE TO MY REVIEW: I went from size 11.5 to a size 12, and they fit is better. Length is fine and not as tight. So I recommend just getting your regular show size. Had them for a few weeks now, and I really like them. The foot bed doesn't have any weird artifacts jamming into the bottoms of your feet, and they look sharp. I recommend!
