As a Jazzercise instructor with wobbly ankles, I rely on mid top shoes. They have been in short supply lately. After a year without being able to find one that worked, I had high hopes for this pair. I'm mostly happy with the shoe but think it would AMAZING if the shoe laced to the top. My last pair of Ryka mid tops had great ankle support and horrible arch support. The new Influence Mid Top seems to have great arch support and lackluster ankle support.

I bought the shoes because of the mid rise. I put my own inserts inside of them because they needed more support. The only problem I'm having with them, is that they needed a shoelace hole at the top of the shoe. The shoelaces are so long that I have to double knot them like a childs shoe. If there was a hole at the top of the shoe they would be perfect length. The laces would also add support at the ankle. Then I could put the the Velcro strap across. I'm thinking about going to a shoe repair place and have grommets put in them at the top. But of course that will cost more money. The somewhat ankle support is the reason that I'm keeping them. I just wish they would've been designed with a little more thought. I hope Ryka reads my review

I have had Rykas before when I taught Zumba and loved them even though they were tight on my feet; they were my normal size 10. I have an old pair size 10.5 M and they fit excellently. I bought these in the same size 10.5 M because of the ones I had and the size chart which said they were a European size 41. Perfect! I got them and tried them on to find they were too snug. Looking at the box, it says that the European size is 40.5. Very disappointed. I have noticed that the same size chart is used for different brands. Disappointing especially when shoes sell out quickly on Zappos and it’s often the case that the size you need is sold out by the time you realize the error. The European sizes are far mor accurate for me. I hope Zappos improves and updates their sizing of each individual brand.

You have the style and type of shoe I want so bad! Why do you only have med/wide and wide?????? Am I the only woman in the universe that has a narrow foot? I do high impact dance aerobics. I slip and slide around in this shoe when it is too wide. This is frustrating! I have no idea what the pros are if I can't wear them because they are too wide.

I’ve been wearing these for a few months and even passed the break in period. And they hurt my toes. Don’t give me ankle support and they broke down so quickly. It’s a waste of money!

Bought these shoes to replace my last Ryka's which were feeling very sloppy and broken down after over a year of continual use. Very disappointed to find that these feel very much the same at the beginning of their use! Lightweight for sure, but very, very little support and stability. I definitely don't care for the lacing design which stops at the top of the foot and the only ankle support is via the Velcro strap.

This shoe is not well designed overall. I love the tread because it allows for fluid movement across carpets which is an important feature if you are doing dance aerobics on a carpeted surface. The drawbacks include no lacing to the top of the shoe, a very thick and wide tongue and an inability to stabilize the top of the shoe with the velcro strap. This shoe would be better if it could be fully laced, the velcro strap was eliminated and the tongue of the shoe made significantly smaller. Overall very uncomfortable and not supportive.

I have been purchasing on Ryka tennis for more than 15 yrs now. However, recently it appear the quality of the shoes are decreasing, yet the prices are increasing. The shoes are not comfortable at all. I do believe I am done with Ryka for the time being.

I bought these to teach Zumba in. They had zero support at the front of the foot. They also had no cushioning. Also for a shoe that is advertised as a mid, I felt there was no ankle support in these. Over all they felt cheap and killed my feet after 30 minutes of teaching. I was so disappointed as I had the previous model of the Influence Mid and they were awesome.
