my first review was prematurely enthusiastic. these are still the best slippers i've found so far for my needs, but not as perfect as originally thought. the elastic around the instep started to get irritating. i got two pairs—a medium and a large—and the elastic on both is tight as it's the main thing holding your foot in place. i'll keep wearing them but will have to do something about the elastic long term since it cuts off circulation. side note: albeit on the narrow side, these slippers are true to size after breaking in. i'm size 7.5 and the medium still fits properly while the large is loose (there's room for socks)

I have very narrow feet, but the foot bed of this slipper was narrow even for me. Combined with the amount of material on top, my foot flopped around on the sole and felt very unstable.

So disappointed! I have loved the previous Acorn travel slipper, which seems to be phased out, or at least no longer in my size. I'm 9-9/5, 40 european, I ordered xlarge in these--and they're too small. Toe would definitely poke out before long, the opening is a little tight, the cushioning is weird, and the soles are stiff. Sending back.

based on the reviews i sized up. but in reality the sizing is totally accurate for a ballet slipper type of fit, which is exactly the kind of slipper i've been looking for. i'll be keeping this larger size for when i need a bit more room for socks/swelling etc., but am considering ordering a pair in my correct (smaller) size for normal barefoot wear. i might even order extra pairs so they never wear out. the suede outsole is absolutely perfect. i've often worn ballet slippers because i prefer a leather sole and close fit for walking on wood floors. i have joint damage and can't be shuffling around in floppy slippers. but i'm at the point where i needed a real slipper with those ballet slipper features *plus* some cushioning and a cozy material. my search may be over as this seems to be the one! my only regret is that i didn't find these slippers sooner. one caveat: the elastic does cut into the top of foot some… but this is still the first day and i've had them on for six hours straight with no desire to remove them. so (despite having hypersensitive feet) the elastic doesn't seem to be a major issue for me. but i can see how this might not be the right slipper for someone with a thicker/wider foot.
