My husband loves these shoes and says they are so comfortable. However after one wearing they scuffed a lot. (See photo). Do you recommend anything I can do for this?

I love these shoes, though they run just a bit tight. Compliments from the first time I wore them!

I had to return these as they were a bit too large and too narrow

Quality and comfort of these is not what I expect. Cheap leather that scuffs easily, not as comfortable as previous JM shoes. I'm moving in to a different brand for replacement.

They are a nice looking shoe. I have many pairs of JM's but these hurt my feet. The leather is very stiff and rubs the back of my feet.

Second pair of these shoes, 3 years later the leather is tougher and cheaper. Blister my foot right away, I hope these break in soon. I have been buying J&M shoes for almost 20 years, I hope this is not indicative of a new direction for them.

Had to order a size larger than I usually wear for Johnston & Murphy. Shoe looks great and larger size fits but the upper heel is sharp and digs into my heel. I have worn them all day more than dozen times and nothing has changed so they’ve become unwearable.

I am a usual Allen Edmonds customer and love their quality. But wanted to try an less expensive, simple design for bad weather and rainy days. I purchased these from J&M and out of the box, they look great. The fit isnt great, but figure they will break in over time. First few wears, they were very uncomfortable - with a ton of sliding in the heel and blisters on both feet. After 4x, they are starting to break in a bit - but still not a great shoe. Guess you get what you pay for.

The shoes look nice, but they are not comfortable. There were a little tight on the front of my foot and put 4 blisters on my heel. I hope they form to my feet and are better to wear over time. That cost to much to just have them sitting in my closet.

I bought these to have something comfortable but nice traditional looking. I walk a lot for work as I travel, and these are comfortable on my feet, but the back of the shoe gave me blisters on my Achilles' tendon area. I had to use bandaids and two pair of socks to get through the week. I guess I need to build up some callous.

Nice looking shoe and comfortable to wear all day. Shoe size was exact so no guessing involved.

Have a previous pair in a 11 1/2, the new 11 1/2 is much smaller. Bought 4 pairs of shoes and will be returning 3 pairs. Wearing J&M for 10 plus yrs, 11 1/2 has always fit, not the case anymore.

These shoes look nice and are a good mix of casual and professional. I like the fit of the shoe, however the comfort that was touted because of the sneaker-like bottom is just ok. It really is not that much better than a regular dress shoe for cushioning and arch support. I've had dress shoes that have better cushioning. One other thing I really dislike is the complete lack of padding at the back of the shoe and around the ankle. I cut my ankle up pretty bad wearing them. Thus, they are nice to wear for a short period of time but do not live up to the comfort that they purport to have.

I liked the design of the Holden, but it had a few issues that made it unsuitable for me. As a smart semi casual leather shoe with a comfortable rubber sole, it was quite appealing. Unfortunately, the shoe ran a bit too slim for my left foot. Additionally, there were several quality issues I refuse to overlook in a more than $100 shoe. Both laces had the same QC issue with fraying mid lace. Some of the stitching in a certain part of the shoe was coming loose, and there was a scuff marks on the leather of one of the toes of my shoes. For these reasons, I returned my pair.

I would much rather have a size 9 because this size 10 is too big. While at the store, I asked for a 9 or 9.5 with a wider width, but I was told we don't have any in stock. I really love the look of this shoe and wouldn't change anything about it except the size 10, of which I had to settle for. Do you carry a 9.5 wide is this shoe? If so, can I make an exchange?

When I tried these shoes on, they didn’t feel like Johnston and Murphy’s usual quality. The leather felt plastic and brittle. The soles squeak terribly when walking. I immediately took them off and prepared the return.
Very disappointed in what was a cheaply made product, and am usually a bit fan of their designs.

Not the same quality as they used to be, the shoe is very rough behind the hill and around the ankle, I had an older wingtip from Johnston Murphy that was much softer and more comfortable to wear. I wore it for a week hoping that it will "break in" but it didn't. I wear size 12 even though it seems to fit fine but overall the shoe has a rather large appearance, fits fine but looks bigger.

This shoe runs unusually narrow for Johnston and Murphy shoes. I have purchased 6-8 pairs of J&M shoes in an 11M and they fit great. In fact, I do not buy another brand of casual or dress shoes. I even have a pair of Holden Plain Toes that I was bragging to my brother-in-law were the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. But these I cannot get on my feet. Now I have to deal with a return/exchange and do I try a wide or go with another shoe. Disappointing from what I have come to expect from J&M.

I've been in pain ever since I put it on. I'm hoping over time it will break in, but currently am having to bring a second pair of shoes to wear when I can't take the pain anymore. Where the shoe meets the ankle is very hard and rigid, digs into the ankle when walking. Great looking shoe however!

Very uncomfortable and stiff shoe. For the price point the leather should be better quality.

Buying process and follow up was good. Wide size was not satisfactorily wide. I won't return shoes as I'll hope for natural stretching. Hope is not a good strategy though. Thanks, Jack
