Will be a good work-horse of a bag. Enough room to carry multiple presentations and ipad. Biggest plus- Can carry on my shoulder, even with a large winter jacket.

I purchased both the English saddle and the black with brown straps. Both bags are perfect. They are smooth leather. They’re still a little more on the structured side since brand new but you can tell that with use they will easily start to soften. I’ve seen quite a bit of reviews suggesting to go into a Madewell store to purchase one so that you can choose the leather. Unfortunately I do not live near a Madewell store so that’s not an option for me. So I purchased two totes so I could pick the “best” one to keep. Both were identical. No flaws. Same color as in the stock photo. Smooth leather. As for the strap drop- The drop on the large transport and medium transport are the same but I think they are spread apart just a little bit more on the large tote which helps it to stay on the shoulder better. For me it is definitely more comfortable than the medium. I’m petite- 5’2” 115 lbs so I do not have any issues with the short strap drop on the Madewell totes but I can see how it would not be ideal for many people especially with a coat on. I do think this could be easily solved if Madewell would just add one inch. If you are looking for full grain leather, this tote is not for you. This looks to be maybe too grain leather? It is still very good quality. I’ve had several full grain leather totes and I always end up selling them because I cannot stand the sueded leather interior shedding everywhere. This is what made me first decide to try Madewell. I saw some reviews on YouTube and noticed the smooth interior. No shedding all over my belongings!

Love this tote. The leather is soft and beautiful. The zipper makes it great for travel. It easily fits my travel laptop, water bottle, notebook and other accessories. So glad I splurged and bought this!

Beautiful, versatile leather bag. Holds large laptop. First bag arrived creased and Zappos arranged very fast replacement.

This item is cute but looks a bit casual. It would be great for a college student but for a business professional, I recommend something that looks more polished. It has a zipper on the top which is great for securing items, huge plus if this is what you are looking for.
